Shippeo acquires Logward to integrate AI-powered workflows with real-time transportation visibility, enhancing supply chain automation and responsiveness.
Shippeo announces the acquisition of Logward on May 4, 2026, marking a strategic step to integrate AI-powered execution workflows with its real-time transportation visibility platform. This move aims to provide customers with a unified solution that connects transport events to automated actions, enhancing supply chain responsiveness and reducing manual intervention. The acquisition follows Shippeo’s $30 million strategic funding round in January 2025, led by Woven Capital (Toyota’s growth fund) with participation from existing investors including Battery Ventures, Partech, NGP Capital, Bpifrance Digital Venture, LFX Venture Partners, Shift4Good, and Yamaha Motor Ventures — bringing Shippeo’s total funding to over $140 million and providing the strong financial position behind the acquisition.
While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, Shippeo has acquired 100% ownership of Logward, a Hamburg-based company with over 80 employees across Europe and India, including an engineering hub in Bangalore. The acquisition follows Shippeo’s launch of Shippeo AI last year, reinforcing its commitment to AI-driven supply chain operations.
Shippeo specializes in real-time multimodal transportation visibility, offering SLA-backed data quality and AI-powered estimated time of arrival (ETA) accuracy. It tracks more than 100 million shipments annually and integrates with over 228,000 carriers and 1,100 transportation management and telematics systems. The company is trusted by global brands across 150 countries, has been named a Leader in the 2024 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Real-Time Transportation Visibility Platforms, and has held the highest customer recommendation rate on Gartner® Peer Insights for four consecutive years. Logward, on the other hand, focuses on supply chain execution workflows, enabling faster and more automated operational responses.
The integration of Logward’s AI-powered workflows with Shippeo’s trusted visibility platform addresses a critical industry challenge. According to Gartner, only 15% of supply chain organizations have realized measurable ROI from AI initiatives, with 80% citing data availability and quality as major barriers. By combining real-time, SLA-backed transport data with automated execution workflows, Shippeo aims to help customers identify issues earlier, prioritize actions, and coordinate more effectively across carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Evonik Industries, a leading specialty chemicals company and customer of both Shippeo and Logward, highlights the benefits of this integration. Susanne Reinhart, Senior Vice President Supply Chain Management at Evonik, states, “By combining transport visibility with execution workflows, we have been able to respond faster to issues, focus teams on the actions that matter most, and coordinate operations more effectively.”
Lucien Besse, COO and co-founder of Shippeo, emphasizes the strategic importance of the acquisition: “With Logward, we take another step towards empowering supply chain teams to act faster and with more confidence. This acquisition unites two expert teams committed to solving real operational challenges in the industry.” Jonas Krumland, CEO of Logward, adds, “Together with Shippeo’s trusted visibility, we can help customers identify what matters sooner, coordinate the right response more effectively, and drive stronger operational and business outcomes.”
The acquisition strengthens Shippeo’s market position as a comprehensive provider of supply chain visibility and execution solutions. It enables cross-selling of AI-powered execution capabilities to Shippeo’s existing customer base and expands service offerings to attract new clients seeking integrated platforms. Operational synergies include enhanced automation, improved real-time decision-making, and reduced manual workflows. The deal also leverages Shippeo’s expanded global footprint, including its growing presence in North America (driven by partnerships with e2open, Google, and SAP) and APAC, where the company recently launched tracking capabilities in Mainland China.
Challenges ahead include aligning technology stacks, managing cultural integration, retaining key talent, and ensuring uninterrupted service during the transition. Competitors are expected to accelerate development of integrated visibility and execution solutions in response.
Looking forward, Shippeo plans to leverage the combined data assets and AI capabilities to improve predictive accuracy and service quality. The company invites industry professionals to a webinar on May 21 to explore how this acquisition advances autonomous supply chain execution.
