Waterland-backed Moore Acquires Adagium to Expand Corporate Finance in Brainport Region

Moore acquires Adagium, boosting corporate finance and advisory services in the Brainport Eindhoven region. Learn about the strategic expansion.

Moore, one of the Netherlands’ largest accountancy and advisory organizations backed by Waterland Private Equity, has acquired Adagium, a corporate finance firm based in Veghel. The acquisition, announced on August 4, 2026, aims to strengthen Moore’s corporate finance practice and expand its presence in the Brainport region around Eindhoven.

Adagium, founded in 2006, specializes in advising small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on mergers and acquisitions. The firm has successfully completed over 450 national and international transactions and was recognized as Overnamekantoor van het Jaar (Acquisition Office of the Year) by Brookz in 2020, 2021, and 2024. The company employs nine professionals, including three partners who will remain actively involved post-acquisition.

Moore’s acquisition of Adagium creates one of the largest M&A teams in the Netherlands. Crossminds, Moore’s existing corporate finance division with nearly 40 specialists, consistently ranks among the top five dealmakers nationally according to the Financieel Dagblad. Marco du Pré, member of Moore DRV’s board, highlights the strategic value: “Together with Adagium, we can better support clients domestically and internationally in sales, acquisitions, and valuation matters.”

Adagium partner Frank Schuurmans emphasizes cultural alignment and client benefits: “Joining Moore allows us to maintain our distinctive approach while gaining access to a broad, multidisciplinary, and international network. This combination creates more opportunities for our clients and team, while preserving familiar faces and working methods.”

The acquisition supports Moore’s strategy to deepen its service offerings in the Brainport region, a hub of innovation and entrepreneurship. Moore plans to open a new office in Eindhoven this autumn, housing various disciplines including accountancy, audit, tax advisory, HR and labor law, subsidy advice, legal counsel, and now corporate finance. This multidisciplinary approach enables comprehensive support for entrepreneurs at all stages of their business lifecycle.

Moore in the Netherlands was formed through the merger of Moore DRV, Moore MKW, and Improven, collectively employing nearly 3,000 professionals. The organization serves the SME market with a wide range of accountancy, advisory, and consultancy services. The integration of Adagium enhances Moore’s corporate finance capabilities and complements its IT audit and cybersecurity services, enabling cross-selling and broader client engagement.

While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition is expected to generate synergies through expanded service portfolios, operational efficiencies, and enhanced client solutions. Challenges include aligning organizational cultures, integrating IT systems, and retaining key talent and clients during the transition.

The move also intensifies competition in the Dutch professional services market, potentially prompting rivals to pursue similar consolidations or invest in innovation to maintain market share.

Looking ahead, Moore aims to leverage the combined expertise of its multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated advisory solutions and support sustainable growth for its clients in the Brainport region and beyond.
