Royal A-ware acquires 35% stake in Amalthea Group, partnering with Ausnutria to expand goat and organic cheese production and marketing.
Royal A-ware has acquired a 35% minority stake in Amalthea Group, a producer specializing in goat’s cheese, other goat dairy products, and organic cow’s cheese. The agreement, announced on July 14, 2026, establishes a strategic partnership with Ausnutria, which retains a 65% majority ownership.
Under the terms of the partnership, Royal A-ware will lead the national and international marketing efforts for Amalthea’s goat and organic goat cheese products. Ausnutria will continue to oversee the processing of high-quality whey proteins, a key ingredient in baby food production. Both companies plan to jointly invest in expanding Amalthea’s cheese factory to meet growing consumer demand.
Royal A-ware, headquartered in Lopik, Netherlands, is a prominent dairy and cheese producer with extensive market knowledge and commercial capabilities in cheese production and distribution. Ausnutria, a specialist in dairy nutritional products, focuses on processing whey proteins and developing infant nutrition ingredients.
The partnership aims to optimize the use of all components of goat’s milk by combining Royal A-ware’s marketing strength with Ausnutria’s nutritional expertise. This collaboration is designed to create a more integrated and resilient supply chain, supporting sustainable growth in the goat dairy sector.
Jan Anker, Chairman of Royal A-ware, stated, “We are delighted to expand our partnership with Ausnutria. The rising demand for goat’s milk products presents significant growth opportunities. This agreement allows us to offer a broader product portfolio and aligns with our strategy to create integrated supply chains that connect consumers directly to farms.”
Bart van der Meer, Executive Director of Ausnutria, added, “Our collaboration with Royal A-ware strengthens Amalthea’s growth prospects and supports a future-proof goat dairy supply chain. This partnership fits seamlessly with our strategic direction.”
The deal responds to increasing global demand for goat’s cheese and organic dairy products. By leveraging complementary strengths, the companies expect to expand market access domestically and internationally, introduce new organic goat cheese products, and enhance baby food ingredient offerings.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The joint investment in Amalthea’s cheese factory aims to improve production capacity and efficiency, addressing supply chain integration challenges and ensuring consistent product quality.
Industry observers note that this partnership increases competitive pressure on other dairy producers in the goat and organic cheese segments. Competitors may respond with increased marketing efforts or seek similar collaborations to innovate and expand their product lines.
Looking ahead, Royal A-ware and Ausnutria plan to coordinate closely on strategic priorities and operational processes to maximize the partnership’s benefits. Regulatory approvals are not expected to pose significant hurdles given the minority stake structure.
This strategic alliance positions Amalthea Group for sustained growth and innovation in the evolving dairy market, combining nutritional science with market-driven product development.
