XPartners Group, a European engineering and design consulting group, has expanded its geographic footprint by acquiring Corall Ingenieure GmbH, a German engineering and expert consultancy focused on preventive fire protection and accessibility planning. The deal was announced on August 26, 2026. This acquisition marks XPartners’ first entry into the German market and its second expansion outside the Nordic region, following its recent move into the Netherlands.

Corall Ingenieure, founded in 2005 and headquartered in Meerbusch near Düsseldorf with additional offices in Hamburg and Dortmund, supports clients across Germany on projects spanning all asset classes. The company offers comprehensive services covering all HOAI/AHO service phases, including fire protection concepts, permitting, fire and evacuation simulations, site supervision, and expert opinions. Corall has completed over 20,000 projects and generated approximately EUR 7 million in revenue in 2025, employing more than 50 specialists.

“Corall is an impressive company. Over two decades and more than 20,000 projects, the team has built a leading position in German fire protection engineering, with a reputation for technical quality and a pragmatic way of working,” said the CEO of XPartners Group. “Their pivotal role in the construction process makes them a perfect fit for our collaboration platform. I am very pleased that our German journey begins with a company of this calibre.”

XPartners Group, backed by private equity firm Axcel since 2023, and by Evolver Equity since 2021, has maintained a rapid acquisition pace, integrating over 50 companies in the past two years. The group now comprises nearly 90 entrepreneur-led firms with combined annual net sales of approximately SEK 5 billion (EUR 450 million). Companies joining XPartners retain operational independence and their own branding, while benefiting from a shared platform that facilitates collaboration, joint tenders, and knowledge exchange. Employees are encouraged to invest, resulting in over 1,000 co-owners across the group.

Corall’s managing directors welcomed the acquisition, emphasizing the benefits for their employees and clients. “We gain the resources and the network to keep developing the business, and our team gains new opportunities to grow through exchange with specialists across the group. At the same time, everything our clients know us for remains: our name, our people and the direct, personal way we work,” they said.

Germany represents one of Europe’s largest construction markets, aligning well with XPartners’ model of integrating specialist firms. The group plans to onboard additional German engineering companies in the coming year, aiming to enhance collaboration opportunities and service offerings for clients across borders.

“Germany has an enormous need for planning and engineering capacity in the years ahead, from infrastructure renewal to the energy transition,” noted a board member of XPartners Group. “Nordic and German engineering cultures fit well together, with the same foundations of technical depth, quality and long-term thinking. XPartners’ entry is good news for the German market, and Corall is a strong start.”

The acquisition is expected to generate synergies through cross-selling engineering and consultancy services, leveraging Corall’s expertise to secure larger multi-jurisdictional projects, and expanding preventive fire protection and accessibility planning offerings. Cost efficiencies will arise from shared administrative functions, economies of scale in procurement, and consolidated support services. Operationally, integrating Corall’s technical expertise into XPartners’ collaboration platform will standardize project management and enhance knowledge sharing.

Challenges include aligning corporate cultures between Nordic and German firms, integrating IT systems, maintaining Corall’s local reputation, and navigating regulatory differences. Competitors in the German fire protection consultancy sector may face increased pressure as consolidation accelerates and international groups expand service capabilities.

Looking ahead, XPartners aims to deepen its presence in Germany by welcoming more specialist firms, enhancing its pan-European network, and supporting clients with comprehensive engineering solutions across infrastructure, buildings, energy, and environmental sectors.
