APK Group acquires AGBb BV, adding €8M revenue and 30 employees to its road construction division. Read about the strategic expansion and market impact.

APK Group has acquired AGBb BV, a road construction company based in Arendonk, Belgium, marking a strategic expansion of its road construction activities. The deal, announced on June 3, 2026, adds around 30 technically skilled employees to APK Group and increases the road construction division’s annual turnover by approximately €8 million, representing a 15% growth in this segment.

AGBb BV specializes in business-to-business (B2B) road construction projects, primarily serving major project developers and construction companies in the wider Antwerp region. The company operates as a separate entity within APK Group and will continue collaborating with its former parent company, B&R Bouwgroep.

APK Group, a well-established player in road construction and infrastructure works, has a strong presence in public works (B2G) across Belgium. The acquisition complements APK Group’s existing operations by expanding its geographic footprint into the Antwerp region and diversifying its client base with B2B projects.

Gerry Peeters, Operations Director at APK Group responsible for road construction, stated, “We are extremely pleased with this acquisition. AGBb brings not only additional expertise, B2B clients and projects, but also around 30 experienced staff members, all of whom we need to achieve our ambitious growth targets. In a market where technical talent is scarce, this represents clear added value. The road construction division is aiming for an annual growth rate of 20%.”

AGBb’s Business Unit Manager, Herman Vaessens, added, “At the road construction division of APK Group, we’ve found ourselves in a company where roadworks are at the heart of its business. We’re now exactly where we belong, and we’re being given the space to grow further.”

The acquisition strengthens APK Group’s operational reach, with the road construction division’s headquarters in Geel and branches in Pelt, Bilzen, Leopoldsburg, and Langemark, now complemented by AGBb’s focus on the Antwerp region. This geographic expansion supports APK Group’s ambition to increase its road construction turnover to €60 million.

B&R Bouwgroep’s HR Manager, Jan In ’t Ven, reflected positively on the transition: “AGBb has made excellent progress within B&R Bouwgroep. We look back on this with gratitude. We wish them every success in this new chapter at APK Group, and we look forward to continuing to work with them.”

AGBb will maintain its separate operational structure while leveraging APK Group’s shared services and support functions. This approach aims to preserve AGBb’s specialized market approach while benefiting from the scale and resources of APK Group.

The acquisition aligns with APK Group’s broader strategy to achieve sustainable growth through staff expansion, project diversification, and geographic presence. It also addresses the industry-wide challenge of securing skilled technical personnel, a critical factor in meeting increasing infrastructure demands.

Market trends indicate growing demand for infrastructure development and maintenance across Belgium, with increased public and private investment in road construction projects. APK Group’s expanded capabilities position it competitively to capture new contracts and respond to evolving client needs.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The integration process will focus on aligning operational standards, safety protocols, and IT systems to ensure seamless service delivery. Regulatory approvals are not expected to pose significant hurdles given the nature of the transaction.

Looking ahead, APK Group aims to leverage this acquisition to accelerate growth, enhance service offerings, and strengthen its market position in Belgium’s infrastructure sector.
