Providence Capital and Clavis merged their operations to establish a stronger presence in the Dutch private wealth management and multi-family office sector. The combination brings together two firms with nearly 20 years of experience advising high-net-worth families on investments, wealth structuring, tax, legal matters, estate planning and succession. Financial terms of the merger were not disclosed.
In May 2025, Dutch investment firm Strikwerda Investments announced the acquisition of a reported majority stake in Providence Capital, a Bussum-based multi-family office managing more than €3 billion in assets. At the time of the announcement, the transaction remained subject to regulatory approval from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM). The financial terms and exact ownership percentage were not disclosed.
The merger between Providence Capital and Clavis aims to combine their specialist expertise, client relationships and operational resources to provide more comprehensive wealth management and family office services. Both firms focus on supporting affluent families, entrepreneurs and business owners with complex financial and succession-related matters.
A central objective of the integration is the development of a modular, digitally enabled wealth management platform offering enhanced financial reporting, investment oversight and access to specialized advisory services. The combined organization intends to maintain personalized client relationships while expanding its technological capabilities and professional network.
According to Michiel Dill, Managing Partner at Clavis, the combination enables clients to access a broader range of specialist knowledge without sacrificing the personal relationships that characterize traditional family office services. Nienke Bollen, Managing Partner at Providence Capital, emphasized the benefits of integrating investment, tax, legal and succession expertise to address the increasingly complex needs of wealthy families.
The combined firm also intends to expand its capabilities in private market investments, family governance, intergenerational wealth transfers and succession planning. Its multi-family office model allows families to benefit from shared infrastructure, investment expertise and professional resources while retaining control over their individual financial decisions.
With the merger and the announced investment by Strikwerda Investments, Providence Capital and Clavis aim to strengthen their position in the Dutch private wealth management market, combining personalized family office services with broader specialist capabilities, improved digital infrastructure and opportunities for long-term growth.
