Carefos, backed by Batavorum Capital, has acquired Pool Materieel en Pannendekkersbedrijf D. Pool, a specialist in pitched roof renovation and new construction, effective September 25, 2026. The acquisition expands Carefos’ operational footprint in the Dutch roofing sector, particularly in the North Holland and Amsterdam areas.

D. Pool, based in Oudkarspel, employs approximately 40 roofing specialists and has built a strong reputation for quality workmanship in pitched roof projects. The company will continue to operate under its own name and maintain its established identity and working methods within the Carefos group.

Mayco Van de Wal, director of Carefos Hellende Daken, states, “We are pleased to welcome D. Pool to our division. This acquisition supports our goal of nationwide coverage in pitched roofing. The Oudkarspel location strengthens our position in Northwest Netherlands and complements our existing sites in Rotterdam and Surhuisterveen.”

Dick Pool, founder of the acquired company, adds, “Joining Carefos Hellende Daken provides a strong and sustainable foundation for our business. We retain our operational independence while benefiting from the combined strength of the group, enhancing our capacity and market reach.”

The deal terms, including financial details, were not disclosed. The acquisition represents a full 100% stake transfer to Carefos Hellende Daken. No external advisors or investment banks were reported to be involved in the transaction.

This strategic move allows Carefos to leverage D. Pool’s established client base and expertise to increase project volume and service quality. Shared procurement and administrative consolidation are expected to reduce costs, while combined workforce capabilities will improve project execution and regional responsiveness.

The acquisition occurs amid ongoing consolidation in the Dutch roofing industry, where companies seek to expand geographic coverage and service offerings to remain competitive. Carefos’ strengthened presence in Northwest Netherlands positions it to better compete against regional rivals, who may respond with similar acquisitions or increased marketing efforts.

Integration plans focus on maintaining D. Pool’s brand identity and operational autonomy while aligning processes and culture with Carefos standards. Challenges include ensuring smooth collaboration across multiple locations and preserving customer relationships during the transition.

Looking ahead, Carefos Hellende Daken aims to capitalize on this acquisition to scale operations, enhance service delivery, and explore further cross-divisional synergies within the Carefos group. The company expresses confidence that the deal will contribute to its continued growth and professionalization in the pitched roofing market.
