In 2024, the Schotpoort family reacquired a 100% stake in Schotpoort Logistics, including its subsidiaries and real estate, from Duvenbeck, a German logistics group backed by Dutch private equity firm Waterland Private Equity Investments. The transaction returned the Dutch logistics provider to family ownership following its acquisition by Duvenbeck in February 2024. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Duvenbeck initially acquired Schotpoort Logistics as part of its strategy to expand its European logistics network into the Benelux region and diversify its customer base. However, changing market conditions, particularly in the German automotive industry, prompted a strategic reassessment, creating an opportunity for the Schotpoort family to regain ownership.

Headquartered in Eerbeek, the Netherlands, Schotpoort Logistics specializes in transport, warehousing, contract logistics and project logistics. The company serves customers across the paper and packaging, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), manufacturing, trading and solar energy sectors. At the time of Duvenbeck’s acquisition, Schotpoort employed approximately 180 people, operated more than 70,000 square metres of warehouse facilities across the Netherlands, maintained a fleet of approximately 120 transport vehicles including subcontractors, and had an additional presence in Lithuania.

The reacquisition is intended to restore operational independence, streamline decision-making and strengthen the company’s focus on specialized, customer-oriented logistics solutions. Schotpoort Logistics will continue operating under its existing organizational structure, maintaining continuity for employees, customers and business partners.

Under renewed family ownership, Schotpoort Logistics aims to build on its established market position in the Benelux region while investing in digitalization, sustainability and long-term operational development. Multiple generations of the Schotpoort family are involved in the business, supporting its continued development as an independent, family-owned logistics provider.
