IMSERV Acquires arbnco to Enhance Energy Intelligence Platform

Bluewater-backed IMSERV, an energy data specialist, has expanded its capabilities by acquiring arbnco, a proptech company focused on smart building software. This acquisition marks IMSERV’s third in 18 months, reflecting its ongoing strategy to build a connected platform that transforms energy data into actionable insights for customers. The deal was anonounced on July 14, 2026.

While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition aims to integrate arbnco’s software with IMSERV’s existing metering and unmetered energy data services. This integration will allow customers to combine building characteristics, actual energy consumption, and external factors such as weather data to benchmark performance across portfolios, identify energy waste, and prioritize operational, financial, and carbon-saving actions.

IMSERV provides energy data and intelligence services that help organizations monitor and optimize energy use. Arbnco specializes in smart building software that converts energy data into decarbonisation plans and investment decisions. Together, the combined platform will support customers in managing Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) requirements and modeling retrofit scenarios to advance net zero goals.

Cox added that the acquisition follows IMSERV’s previous purchases of Astral Tech, a global energy company, and SP Dataserve, which expanded IMSERV’s data reach. “Piece by piece, IMSERV is building something the market has not had before: one trusted place to go from the meter to meaningful action on cost, carbon and compliance,” she said.

The acquisition comes amid growing demand for integrated energy and building performance solutions as organizations face stricter environmental regulations and sustainability targets. IMSERV’s enhanced platform aims to provide deeper insight into building operations, enabling customers to make informed investment decisions and improve energy efficiency.

Financial details such as deal value and multiples were not disclosed. IMSERV plans to work closely with customers during the integration process and welcomes the arbnco team into its business. The company anticipates that combining metering data with smart building analytics will improve data accuracy and insight generation, supporting compliance and retrofit planning.
