ProMedia Group acquires Reismedia, strengthening its Dutch-language travel and aviation media portfolio. Read about the strategic expansion and market impact.
ProMedia Group has acquired Reismedia B.V., a prominent publisher specializing in Dutch-language aviation and business travel media. The acquisition, announced on June 18, 2026, strengthens ProMedia’s presence in the Netherlands and Belgium’s Dutch-speaking markets, consolidating its leadership in the travel and aviation media sector.
Reismedia has been active for 25 years, publishing well-known titles such as Luchtvaartnieuws, Zakenreisnieuws, Reisbizz, and Triptalk. These publications serve professionals and decision-makers in the business travel and aviation industries, offering news, analysis, and sector insights.
While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, ProMedia acquired 100% ownership of Reismedia. This transaction follows ProMedia’s earlier acquisition of FlightGlobal, a major international aviation media platform, further expanding its global portfolio.
ProMedia Group, headquartered in Rotterdam, Netherlands, operates across media and publishing sectors focused on travel and aviation. The company aims to build a leading position in these strategic growth markets by combining local expertise with international reach.
Arie van Dijk, CEO of ProMedia Group, emphasized the strategic importance of the acquisition: “The aviation and travel sectors are key growth areas for us. Adding Reismedia’s strong Dutch-language brands and extensive network complements our global portfolio, including FlightGlobal. Together, we will offer a more comprehensive platform for professionals and companies in these industries.”
Rob Somsen, founder and director of Reismedia, described the acquisition as a natural progression: “Joining ProMedia allows us to leverage additional resources, knowledge, and international networks while contributing our expertise and market knowledge. Our shared ambition to provide high-quality industry information and relevant events makes this partnership a strong fit.”
The deal is expected to generate synergies through cross-selling advertising and subscription packages across combined media brands, expanding audience reach, and enhancing event monetization. Operational efficiencies will arise from consolidating editorial, marketing, and administrative functions, as well as integrating technology platforms.
Industry analysts note that this acquisition accelerates consolidation in the niche market of aviation and business travel media. Competitors may respond with mergers or increased investment in digital and event offerings to maintain market share.
Looking ahead, ProMedia plans to integrate Reismedia’s publications with its existing platforms, enhancing digital user experience and expanding content offerings. The company will focus on maintaining Reismedia’s independent editorial reputation while leveraging combined strengths to attract premium advertisers and subscribers.
Regulatory approvals and integration processes are expected to proceed smoothly, with both companies committed to a seamless transition. This acquisition positions ProMedia as a dominant player in Dutch-language travel and aviation media, complementing its international portfolio and supporting future growth.
