Rubrik Acquires Strata.io to Enhance Identity Resilience Capabilities

Rubrik, a leading Security and AI Operations company, has acquired Strata.io, a specialist in Identity Orchestration, to expand its identity resilience offerings. Announced on June 9, 2026, the acquisition enables Rubrik to introduce two new capabilities: Identity Continuity and Identity Roll Forward, designed to enhance authentication reliability and streamline identity system recovery.

While financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the strategic acquisition integrates Strata.io’s technology to automatically fail over to a secondary Identity Provider (IdP) during primary IdP outages, ensuring uninterrupted access to critical applications. Additionally, Rubrik’s in-house developed Identity Roll Forward capability allows organizations to recover identity systems to a clean, current state by reversing unauthorized changes without losing legitimate updates, significantly reducing manual remediation efforts.

Rubrik, publicly traded on the NYSE under ticker RBRK, specializes in data protection, cyber resilience, and enterprise AI acceleration. Its Security Cloud platform secures and recovers data, identities, and workloads across cloud environments. Strata.io focuses on unifying fragmented Identity and Access Management (IAM) infrastructures across multi-cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments without requiring application code rewrites. Founded by Eric Olden, a co-author of the SAML identity federation standard, Strata.io brings deep expertise in identity federation and orchestration.

By integrating Strata.io’s identity continuity technology, Rubrik strengthens its position in the cybersecurity market, offering unique capabilities that competitors currently lack.

Financially, the deal is expected to generate synergies through cross-selling identity resilience solutions to Rubrik’s existing customer base and expanding the addressable market. Rubrik’s Identity Roll Forward capability leverages proprietary intelligence and third-party signals to surgically reconstruct Active Directory environments, isolating and reversing unauthorized changes while preserving legitimate modifications. Identity Continuity ensures authentication services remain operational by automatically switching to a secondary IdP during outages, maintaining business continuity during cyber incidents.

Both new features are currently in private preview, with broader availability expected following further development and testing. Rubrik plans to integrate Strata.io’s technology fully into its Security Cloud platform, enhancing its comprehensive cyber resilience offerings.
