Epic Charging Acquires Bluedot Technologies to Expand US EV Fleet Platform

Epic Charging acquires Bluedot Technologies, integrating payment and management for 80% of US public EV chargers. Learn about the strategic EV fleet deal.

Epic Charging, a Silicon Valley-based EV charging software provider, has acquired Bluedot Technologies, a Palo Alto company specializing in EV fleet charging management and payment solutions. The deal, finalized on May 5, 2026, includes Bluedot’s branding, platform technology, intellectual property, customer contracts, and key personnel.

Bluedot’s platform provides fleet drivers with access to more than 80% of public EV chargers across the United States, offering a single, automated payment solution that eliminates the need for multiple apps or cards. The platform also features real-time telematics integration, intelligent route optimization, fraud prevention tools, and home charging tracking with IRS-compliant reimbursement capabilities.

Founded by CEO Ferhat Babacan and COO Selinay Parlak, Bluedot quickly established itself as a key player in the EV fleet charging space, securing partnerships with major customers such as Rivian, Hertz, Vay, and the City of San Francisco. The company graduated from Y Combinator in 2023 and raised over $5 million from investors including Axel Springer & Porsche (now Heartfelt) and Ford Driventure. Babacan and Parlak were recognized on Forbes’ 2024 “30 Under 30” list for Manufacturing and Industry.

Epic Charging’s CEO Michael Bakunin highlighted the strategic fit of the acquisition, stating that integrating Bluedot’s payment platform with Epic’s award-winning charge point management system (CPMS) creates a comprehensive end-to-end solution for fleet operators. The combined platform will accelerate the development of Charge OptimAIzer, an AI-driven energy management system that optimizes charging using fleet data and telematics.

Epic Charging’s CPMS is hardware-agnostic and OCPP-compliant, designed to improve uptime, transparency, and profitability for fleets, businesses, and municipalities. The company recently migrated thousands of chargers from networks such as Enel X, Shell, and EvoCharge, and partnered with LAZ Parking to deploy 50,000 Level 2 charging stations across North America. Epic was named a Darcy Partners Top 10 Innovator in 2025.

With this acquisition, Epic significantly strengthens its position as the leading EV charging software platform for fleet operators in the US. The integration enables fleet drivers to access Epic-powered networks directly through the Bluedot app, increasing charging sessions and demand for site operators.

Bluedot will continue to operate as a separate brand under Epic Charging, ensuring continuity for existing customers while key Bluedot team members transition to Epic. The deal addresses a unique market gap by offering a unified platform that covers the full EV charging value chain for fleets, from finding chargers to payment and management.

Industry experts note that this acquisition accelerates consolidation in the EV fleet charging sector, increasing competitive pressure on smaller providers. Epic’s expanded platform is expected to attract large fleet customers seeking simplified, integrated solutions.

Looking ahead, Epic plans to focus on seamless integration of the two platforms, retention of key personnel, and continued innovation to maintain its market leadership. Regulatory approvals were not disclosed but are not expected to pose significant hurdles.

Overall, the acquisition positions Epic Charging to capitalize on the rapid growth of the EV fleet market by delivering a comprehensive, scalable software solution that meets evolving customer needs.
