Atlas Greenhouse acquires Stuppy Greenhouse, combining nearly 200 years of U.S. manufacturing expertise to enhance product offerings and market reach.
Atlas Greenhouse, based in Alapaha, Georgia, and backed by Mangrove Equity Partners, has completed the acquisition of Stuppy Greenhouse, a Kansas City, Missouri-based manufacturer with a 153-year history in the commercial greenhouse industry. The transaction, announced on April 27, merges two well-established American brands, creating a unified company with enhanced engineering capabilities, expanded product lines, and a broader geographic footprint.
While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition represents a strategic consolidation within the U.S. commercial greenhouse manufacturing sector. Both companies will continue to offer their respective product lines, supported by their existing engineering teams and customer service operations, ensuring continuity for their diverse customer base.
Founded in 1986, Atlas Greenhouse specializes in commercial and residential greenhouse systems serving growers, nurseries, cannabis cultivators, and educational institutions. The company operates over 120,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space, emphasizing American-made quality, production capacity, and responsive customer support.
Stuppy Greenhouse, established in 1873, is one of the oldest and most respected names in the industry. Known for its craftsmanship and engineering expertise, Stuppy serves commercial growers, retail garden centers, specialty operations, and research institutions with durable, high-quality greenhouse structures.
John Edwards, CEO of Atlas Greenhouse, highlighted the strategic rationale: “Our focus is simple – strengthen what customers already value while expanding what we can deliver. By combining Atlas and Stuppy, we bring together decades of engineering excellence, manufacturing capability, and customer commitment. This is a win for our customers and a win for the industry.” Matt Stuppy, fifth-generation owner of Stuppy Greenhouse, added, “Given the cultural fit and aligned values of both organizations, I believe we will be able to quickly continue to innovate complete solutions and provide meaningful resources to greenhouse users of all sizes across all end markets.”
The combined entity aims to leverage complementary product lines and engineering resources to drive revenue growth and operational efficiencies. Customers across agriculture, ornamental horticulture, retail garden centers, education, and research sectors will benefit from a broader, integrated product portfolio and enhanced technical support.
Industry consolidation is accelerating as manufacturers seek scale and innovation to meet evolving customer demands. This acquisition positions the combined Atlas-Stuppy company as a leading U.S.-based greenhouse manufacturer with increased market share and geographic reach.
Operational synergies include consolidating manufacturing and supply chains, streamlining administrative functions, and unifying customer service teams. The integration will focus on maintaining service quality and customer confidence while aligning corporate cultures and processes.
Looking ahead, the company plans to continue investing in engineering-driven innovation and expanding its presence across major U.S. markets. Regulatory approvals were not specified, and integration timelines remain undisclosed.
This acquisition underscores a commitment to American-made greenhouse solutions and long-term value creation for customers and stakeholders.
