XPartners Group, a leading European engineering and design consulting group backed by Axcel, acquired Proviko on April 14, 2026, a Finnish project and construction management consultancy headquartered in Tampere. Founded in 2019, Proviko specializes in managing large and complex public infrastructure projects, particularly in transport infrastructure, water and wastewater, and ports.

The acquisition strengthens XPartners’ Finnish platform by adding Proviko’s expertise in public procurement and construction management. Proviko operates with approximately 30 employees across its Tampere headquarters and Helsinki office. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Proviko offers a comprehensive range of services including project management, project planning, public procurement, design management, and construction management. The company has established a strong position in Finland’s public infrastructure sector, working closely with public sector clients throughout the full lifecycle of projects.

“Proviko brings strong expertise in public infrastructure project and construction management services and is an important addition to our Finnish platform,” says the Managing Director of XPartners Finland. “The company has a clear market role, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and a stable customer base. This acquisition strengthens our presence in a strategically important area and creates good opportunities for cooperation with other group companies.”

Proviko’s co-founder adds, “We have built Proviko with great care for both the quality of our services and how we develop our people. Through XPartners, we gain access to a broader context and new opportunities for collaboration. We will continue to develop the company based on our own culture, way of working, and high-quality project management expertise.”

XPartners Group AB (publ) comprises more than 70 entrepreneur-led companies with over 2,000 specialists advising clients across infrastructure, buildings, energy, and environmental sectors. On a pro forma basis, the group generates annual revenues exceeding SEK 4.0 billion. The company is primarily employee-owned, supported by private equity firm Axcel.

The acquisition aligns with XPartners’ strategy to expand and strengthen its Finnish infrastructure consultancy platform. It enables cross-selling of project management services to existing clients and access to new public infrastructure projects through Proviko’s established client base. Operational synergies include shared administrative functions, consolidation of overlapping roles, and economies of scale in procurement and technology platforms.

Market trends indicate increasing demand for specialized consultancy services in public infrastructure, driven by government investments in transport, water, and port facilities. XPartners’ enhanced capabilities position it competitively against other firms in the Finnish market, potentially accelerating industry consolidation.

Integration efforts will focus on maintaining Proviko’s entrepreneurial culture while aligning operational processes and project management standards across the group. Challenges include ensuring smooth collaboration between geographically dispersed teams and retaining key personnel.

Looking ahead, XPartners aims to leverage Proviko’s expertise to bid for larger, integrated infrastructure projects and foster innovation within the group. The acquisition is expected to reinforce XPartners’ market position in Finland and support long-term growth in the public infrastructure consultancy sector.
