On February 17, 2026, PIA Group announced its acquisition of MRVO accountants en belastingadviseurs, a firm based in Kwintsheul and Schiedam, aimed at bolstering its regional footprint in the Netherlands.
PIA Group, backed by Baltisse, has officially acquired MRVO accountants en belastingadviseurs, a well-established firm operating in Kwintsheul and Schiedam, as of February 17, 2026. This strategic move is designed to enhance PIA Group’s regional coverage in the Westland and Rijnmond areas, where MRVO has been a key player for nearly a century.
MRVO specializes in providing accounting and tax advisory services to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), non-profit organizations, freelancers, and individuals. The firm, founded in 1926, has built a strong reputation across various sectors, including retail, transport, logistics, hospitality, and professional services.
Despite the acquisition, MRVO will continue to operate under its own name, maintaining its established practices and management structure. This decision reflects MRVO’s commitment to preserving its local identity while leveraging the resources and expertise of PIA Group. According to Martin Vreeswijk and Caroline van Kester-Zwinkels from MRVO Kwintsheul, “By collaborating, we can offer our colleagues and clients more opportunities for development, growth, and cooperation.”
Peter Breeman, Jeroen de Vos, and Rob van Wetten from MRVO Schiedam echoed this sentiment, stating that the partnership would ensure continuity for the future while allowing them to benefit from PIA Group’s scale and expertise. “Maintaining our local identity is crucial for both our clients and employees,” they noted.
For MRVO employees, the acquisition opens up broader training and development opportunities through the PIA Academy, as well as enhanced specialization and knowledge sharing within the group. Additionally, MRVO will gain access to shared IT solutions and support processes, ensuring that its independence remains intact.
PIA Group, which operates in the accounting and advisory market for SMEs, collaborates with locally focused offices within a unified group. CEO Ewout Brouwers stated, “MRVO fits well within our model, consisting of a team eager to build a quality future together. Their hands-on mentality aligns perfectly with PIA Group’s ethos.”
The acquisition is part of PIA Group’s strategy to remain a leading player in the accounting and advisory services sector, focusing on innovation while preserving local characteristics. Since its establishment in 2012 by Steven Brouckaert, PIA Group has expanded into an international organization with over 75 offices and more than 3,500 employees across the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
As PIA Group continues to grow both organically and through acquisitions, the integration of MRVO is expected to strengthen its market position in the regional accounting sector. The company aims to enhance its service offerings while navigating the challenges of maintaining MRVO’s local identity during the integration process.
