Minitab, a leader in data analytics solutions, has announced its acquisition of Effex, a provider of advanced design of experiments (DOE) tools. This strategic move aims to enhance Minitab's offerings and support organizations in achieving operational excellence.
Minitab, a global leader in data collection and predictive analytics, has acquired Effex, a cutting-edge design of experiments (DOE) and optimization tool provider. This acquisition, announced on February 17, 2026, aims to integrate Effex’s advanced capabilities into Minitab’s existing solutions portfolio, although the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Effex is known for its proprietary OMARS® (Orthogonal Minimally Aliased Response Surface) designs, which combine screening and response surface methodologies. These designs enhance modeling capabilities, increase prediction accuracy, and provide clearer effect estimation, allowing teams to gain deeper insights with fewer experimental runs.
Jeffrey T. Slovin, President and CEO of Minitab, stated, “Adding the Effex solution to our platform positions Minitab as the market leader in design of experiments offerings. By integrating this advanced DOE technology into Minitab’s trusted end-to-end solutions portfolio, we’re helping customers unlock deeper insights, drive smarter optimization, and lead with data to achieve better business outcomes in increasingly complex environments.”
The integration of Effex into the Minitab Solution Center™ will provide organizations with a unified environment that supports experimentation, data management, statistical analysis, optimization, and decision-making at scale. This move is expected to accelerate the development of next-generation DOE capabilities, benefiting customers across various data-driven industries, including automotive, aerospace, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, electronics, chemicals, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing.
Minitab has over 50 years of experience in helping organizations harness the power of their data to deliver high-quality products and services. Its solutions include Minitab® Statistical Software, Minitab Solution Center™, Real-Time SPC™, Minitab Connect®, Prolink™, and Simul8™, all supported by expert services that leverage advanced analytics to attain process excellence.
As Minitab integrates Effex’s advanced optimal design algorithms and sophisticated optimization techniques, it aims to enhance its existing DOE offerings significantly. The acquisition is expected to facilitate cross-selling opportunities, expand market reach, and improve product development cycles through shared technology and resources.
Looking ahead, Minitab will focus on aligning corporate cultures, integrating technology platforms, and training staff on the new tools and methodologies. The company is committed to making advanced statistical analysis practical and accessible, ensuring that its customers can solve more problems faster and with fewer constraints.
