APK Group acquires Kroes Aannemingsbedrijf BV, boosting its Dutch infrastructure presence in ground, road, water construction and renewable energy sectors.

APK Group, an international infrastructure conglomerate, announces the acquisition of Kroes Aannemingsbedrijf BV, a family-owned construction specialist based in Maasland, Netherlands. The deal, announced on June 17, 2026, expands APK Group’s regional presence and capabilities in the Dutch infrastructure market, particularly in ground, road, and water construction as well as concrete works.

The financial terms of the transaction remain undisclosed. Kroes Aannemingsbedrijf, founded in 1957 and led by the third generation of the Kroes family, generated approximately €28 million in revenue in 2025 and employs 54 staff members. Post-acquisition, Kroes will continue to operate as an independent business unit within APK Group’s Dutch operations.

Kroes has established a strong regional footprint in Midden-Delfland, Westland, and the Randstad area, specializing in ground, road, and water construction (GWW) and concrete projects. APK Group, active across infrastructure sectors including energy, water, gas, telecom, and construction, operates three regional divisions in the Netherlands: Zeeland, Midden-Nederland, and Brabant Limburg. This acquisition notably strengthens APK’s position in Midden-Nederland.

Armand Knoop, CEO of APK Group Netherlands, highlights the strategic fit: “The combination of a healthy company, aligned corporate cultures, and experienced management makes Kroes a sustainable addition to our group. Our core values—safety, collaboration, customer focus, respect, and results—closely align with Kroes’ family-driven ethos. We aim to accelerate Kroes’ growth by leveraging business opportunities across our operations in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.”

Marco Kroes, director of Kroes Aannemingsbedrijf, emphasizes continuity as a key condition for the deal: “We found in APK Group a partner that shares our values of quality, reliability, and a people-centered culture. Continuity for our employees, clients, and the Kroes name, which has deep regional roots, was essential. With APK’s scale and resources, we can further strengthen our position in the Randstad and expand in GWW, concrete, and the energy transition sectors.”

The acquisition supports APK Group’s strategic ambitions to grow in renewable energy infrastructure, particularly geothermal energy (geothermie) and the greenhouse horticulture sector (glastuinbouw). By integrating Kroes’ specialized knowledge and regional client base, APK expects to enhance project execution capacity and cross-sell services, driving revenue growth and operational efficiencies.

APK Group reported a 2025 revenue of approximately €510 million globally, with around €175 million generated in the Netherlands and a workforce of 2,650 employees worldwide, including 500 in the Dutch market. The company’s headquarters in the Netherlands is located in Oosterhout.

Looking ahead, APK Group and Kroes plan to align their operations closely, focusing on innovation, talent development, and delivering end-to-end infrastructure solutions from design through execution. The integration will require careful management of cultural alignment and operational coordination across regional units.

This acquisition marks a significant step in the ongoing consolidation of the Dutch infrastructure sector, positioning APK Group as a stronger competitor in the region. The deal is expected to enhance APK’s ability to meet growing demand for sustainable infrastructure projects amid the energy transition.
