Oak Tree Hill Capital has expanded its Feltham Engineering platform by acquiring EZ Electric Power Steering, a specialist manufacturer of electric power steering systems for classic cars. The acquisition aims to strengthen Feltham Engineering’s position in the premium aftermarket engineering sector by adding a globally recognized brand with a broad product range.
EZ Electric Power Steering supplies customers in over 50 countries and offers electric power steering solutions for more than 200 classic car models, spanning from pre-war vehicles to modern classics. The company will continue to operate under its own name, now appended with “Part of Feltham Engineering,” maintaining its brand identity and leadership team. Founder and Technical Director Ruud Jong, alongside Robi Rizvić, will remain at the helm.
While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition is structured to leverage synergies across Feltham Engineering’s platform. Oak Tree Hill Capital, a private equity firm, initiated Feltham Engineering to consolidate specialist, founder-led businesses in the premium aftermarket engineering space, providing them with long-term capital and operational support.
Feltham Engineering’s model allows each company to retain its unique identity and team while benefiting from shared expertise in international sales, marketing, operations, and finance. This approach addresses common challenges faced by niche engineering firms, such as succession planning, international expansion, and professionalization.
Emiel Putman, Managing Partner at Oak Tree Hill Capital, highlights the strategic rationale: “At EZ we found a level of craftsmanship, technical expertise and quality you rarely come across. That is exactly why we chose to start with the EZ team. EZ is the foundation of Feltham and the benchmark for every business we look to bring into the group.”
Ruud Jong added, “We were looking for a partner who could secure our future and help us make more of our commercial potential. For our customers and dealers, EZ stays exactly what it is: the same people, the same products, the same quality.”
The acquisition positions Feltham Engineering to capitalize on cross-selling opportunities, expand its international customer base, and achieve cost efficiencies through shared procurement and operational consolidation. The platform’s long-term, family office-backed investment horizon supports sustained value creation through innovation and professional management.
Industry experts note that the premium aftermarket for classic and specialty vehicles is highly fragmented, with many small, technically excellent companies facing growth and succession challenges. Feltham Engineering’s platform approach accelerates industry consolidation and enhances competitive positioning against rivals pursuing similar strategies.
Looking ahead, integration efforts will focus on preserving EZ Electric Power Steering’s craftsmanship and brand reputation while aligning operational processes and leveraging shared resources. The deal underscores Oak Tree Hill Capital’s commitment to building a leading platform in premium aftermarket engineering for classic vehicles.
