Signmeesters, backed by Dutch private equity Findyourgroup, has expanded its footprint in the signage and communication sector by acquiring Esbi Reclame, a company focused on construction and real estate communication. The transaction, announced on October 28, 2026, marks the sixth addition to the Signmeesters group, further broadening its service offerings and geographic reach within the Netherlands.

Esbi Reclame, based in Bleskensgraaf, specializes in making construction and real estate projects visible through communication tools such as construction site boards, building hoardings, and project signage. The company collaborates closely with contractors, landlords, brokers, and developers to support project visibility from initial planning stages through to occupancy.

As part of the acquisition, Sven and Jesse van de Steenoven join as shareholders alongside their father, Pieter-Jan van de Steenoven, who will remain actively involved in the business during the transition. This multi-generational leadership approach aims to combine experience with fresh entrepreneurial energy to drive future growth.

The strategic rationale behind the deal centers on creating synergies across Signmeesters’ portfolio. Esbi’s early-stage involvement in construction projects complements Signmeesters’ existing capabilities in facade signage, wayfinding, and interior branding. This integration enables the group to offer clients a comprehensive signage solution throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Operational efficiencies are expected through shared administrative functions, consolidated procurement, and optimized production capacity. Additionally, coordinated sales and marketing efforts will target larger, integrated projects, enhancing customer retention and expanding revenue streams.

The acquisition strengthens Signmeesters’ position as a leading national signage group with enhanced expertise in the construction and real estate sectors. Industry consolidation is accelerating, and this move positions Signmeesters to better compete against smaller firms by offering a broader, more integrated service portfolio.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. No external advisors were reported to be involved. The integration process will focus on aligning corporate cultures and operational systems while managing leadership succession within the van de Steenoven family.

Looking ahead, Signmeesters plans to leverage the combined capabilities to capture larger end-to-end signage projects and deepen client relationships. Pieter-Jan van de Steenoven will continue in his current role, mentoring Sven and Jesse as they prepare to assume future leadership positions.

This acquisition reflects Signmeesters’ ongoing strategy to build a nationwide group with diverse disciplines and increased capacity, offering clients a one-stop signage partner for complex projects.
