Venster Techniek, based in Zelhem, and ISC, located in Schijndel, have merged their operations after investment from the Dutch investment firm Intersaction. Both companies specialize in manufacturing fiberglass composite doorstep systems for window frames but focus on different segments: Venster Techniek primarily serves the wooden window frame market, while ISC has a strong foothold in plastic window frames.
The combined entity expects to generate annual revenues exceeding €20 million, serving over 200 customers. The transaction includes reinvestment by the original owners, Jurgen Rensen of Venster Techniek and Erik Smits of ISC, who remain actively involved in their respective companies. The deal was facilitated by advisory firm Marktlink.
Venster Techniek, founded in 1999, employs around 50 people and has invested heavily in automation, digitalization, and product development in recent years. ISC, established in 2007 with approximately 35 employees, brings expertise in engineering, composite processing, and customized production. Both companies have focused on innovation and digital workflows to meet evolving market demands.
The strategic rationale behind the merger centers on leveraging complementary market positions to broaden product offerings and improve customer service. Venster Techniek’s strength in wooden window frame doorstep systems complements ISC’s specialization in plastic frames. Together, they aim to accelerate growth by cross-selling products and expanding into international markets where demand for high-performance, low-relief doorstep solutions is rising.
Market trends supporting this growth include increased construction and renovation activity, stricter energy efficiency standards for buildings, and growing interest in sustainable building materials. The companies plan to invest jointly in digitalization, automation, and scalable production processes to enhance competitiveness and reduce costs. Sustainability initiatives will also receive greater focus as part of their product and production development.
Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, but the combined workforce totals approximately 85 employees. Key management and operational staff, including CFO Willem Huijink and Operations Manager Vincent Surenbroek from Venster Techniek, as well as Erik Smits and his son Rai from ISC, are reinvesting and continuing their leadership roles. Alfred-Jan van Berkel will gradually retire but remain involved during the transition.
Integration challenges include aligning corporate cultures, coordinating production technologies, and managing expectations between original owners and the new investor. However, the companies anticipate that shared procurement, streamlined R&D, and joint investments will generate significant cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Competitively, the merger strengthens their position as leading suppliers in the Dutch fiberglass doorstep market and positions them well for international expansion. Industry consolidation is expected to accelerate as competitors respond with strategic partnerships and innovation investments.
Looking ahead, Venster Techniek and ISC plan to deepen their collaboration, enhance product innovation, and scale production to meet rising domestic and foreign demand. The partnership with Intersaction provides the capital and strategic support necessary for this next growth phase.
