Waterland Private Equity Partners with Primeline Group to Accelerate Growth

Waterland Private Equity partners with Primeline Group to support expansion across Ireland and UK, targeting €500M revenue in five years.

Waterland Private Equity has entered into a partnership with Primeline Group, Ireland’s leading independent provider of supply chain, logistics, sales, and marketing services. Announced on 31 July 2026, the collaboration is designed to support Primeline’s next phase of growth, focusing on geographic expansion and strategic acquisitions across Ireland and the UK.

Primeline, headquartered in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, has over 35 years of experience delivering integrated route-to-market solutions to both domestic and international brands. The company employs approximately 1,250 people and generates annual revenues of around €300 million. Each week, Primeline completes more than 25,000 deliveries to over 7,500 retailers, utilizing a fleet of more than 400 vehicles to distribute over 1.6 million cases.

The partnership with Waterland will enable Primeline to accelerate its growth trajectory, targeting revenues exceeding €500 million within the next five years. This growth will be driven by a combination of organic expansion and acquisitions, alongside investments in technology, talent, and customer service capabilities. The company also plans to increase its workforce to approximately 1,750 employees to support this expansion.

Group CEO Pamela Quinn, along with principal shareholders Danny Geoghegan and Tim Cummins, will continue to lead Primeline alongside the existing management team. Waterland’s strategic and financial backing is expected to help Primeline capitalize on consolidation opportunities in the fragmented supply chain, logistics, and route-to-market sectors.

Quinn commented, “Over the past 35 years, we’ve built Primeline by developing long-term partnerships with our customers and continually investing in our people, capabilities, and infrastructure. Waterland shares our long-term vision and has an excellent track record of supporting ambitious businesses through their next phase of growth.”

Waterland highlighted Primeline’s market-leading position and operational scale, noting the company’s extensive delivery network and strong relationships with global consumer brands. The private equity firm sees significant opportunities to expand Primeline’s services both organically and through acquisitions, particularly in the UK market.

Industry trends indicate increasing consolidation in the supply chain and logistics sectors, driven by the need for scale, technology integration, and enhanced service offerings. Primeline’s strengthened position under Waterland’s partnership is expected to intensify competitive pressures on smaller providers in Ireland and the UK, potentially accelerating further market consolidation.

Financial terms of the partnership were not disclosed. However, the strategic rationale centers on leveraging Primeline’s established route-to-market capabilities and Waterland’s investment expertise to drive growth. Operational synergies include optimizing fleet and warehouse operations, consolidating back-office functions, and investing in technology to improve supply chain visibility and efficiency.

Looking ahead, Primeline plans to integrate new acquisitions carefully while maintaining service quality and operational reliability. The company also aims to enhance talent development programs to support its expanding workforce. Regulatory approvals are not expected to pose significant hurdles, but cross-border expansion will require careful management of compliance and operational integration.

This partnership marks a significant milestone for Primeline, positioning the company to strengthen its leadership in the supply chain and logistics sector across Ireland and the UK. With Waterland’s support, Primeline is set to pursue ambitious growth targets while continuing to deliver high-quality service to its customers.
