Techone Acquires Dare IT to Strengthen Managed Services Portfolio

Techone has acquired Dare IT, enhancing its managed services offerings and expanding its presence in Flevoland's IT sector.

Techone, backed by the Private Equity arm of KKR, has officially acquired Dare IT, a Managed Service Provider (MSP) renowned for its expertise in delivering and managing IT infrastructures and online workplaces. This acquisition, announced on February 26, 2026, represents Techone’s inaugural venture into the Flevoland region, with Dare IT continuing to operate independently from its base in Almere.

Dare IT was co-founded by Dave Ruiters and Erik van der Steen, who have established a strong reputation in the managed services market over the years. Following the acquisition, Erik van der Steen will depart from the company to pursue new opportunities, while Ruiters will remain to lead Dare IT’s growth in collaboration with Techone.

Coert Coomans, CEO of Techone, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “Dare IT has built an excellent reputation within the SME and MKB+ sectors. Their focus on quality and customer orientation aligns perfectly with our vision. We are grateful to Erik for his contributions to Dare IT’s development and look forward to working with Dave to further grow the company.”

Erik van der Steen reflected positively on the transition, saying, “It has been a rewarding journey building Dare IT with Dave. Personally, this is the right moment for me to pass the baton. I am confident that Dare IT will have a strong future within Techone.”

Dave Ruiters added, “We have always built Dare IT with a clear focus on quality, engagement, and long-term customer relationships. In Techone, we have found a partner that shares these values. This collaboration allows us to grow in a controlled manner and better support our clients while maintaining Dare IT’s identity.”

The acquisition aligns with Techone’s broader strategy to enhance its market position through scaling, specialization, and partnerships with strong regional players. The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed, but the integration of Dare IT’s services with Techone’s technology solutions is expected to create significant synergies.

As Techone integrates Dare IT, it aims to leverage cross-selling opportunities to its existing customer base and expand service offerings to Dare IT’s clients. The acquisition is anticipated to strengthen Techone’s market share within the SME sector, particularly in Flevoland, while enhancing customer support capabilities through combined expertise.

Looking ahead, Techone faces integration challenges, including maintaining Dare IT’s brand identity and aligning corporate cultures. However, the potential for increased customer retention and new client acquisition in Flevoland presents a promising outlook for the combined entity.
