Shamrock Capital has acquired Mutiny, enhancing its presence in the gaming marketing sector. Learn more about this strategic move.
Shamrock Capital, an investment firm based in Los Angeles, has announced its acquisition of Mutiny on February 24, 2026. Mutiny is a leading creative agency focused on connecting global publishers and brands with gaming audiences. The deal is part of Shamrock’s Clover Fund, its inaugural small-cap private equity vehicle, which was raised in 2024.
Founded in 2021, Mutiny has quickly established itself as a high-growth agency, specializing in integrated creative strategies and community engagement tailored for the gaming industry. The agency combines deep industry expertise with research-driven capabilities, enabling brands to effectively engage gaming audiences through player-first content and social strategies.
Sam Halls and Ryan Smiley, Partners and co-heads of Shamrock’s Clover Fund, expressed their enthusiasm for the acquisition, stating, “We believe Mutiny is a leading agency with a unique capability set and an exceptional understanding of how to connect with players. Gaming continues to be one of the most dynamic and rapidly evolving sectors within media and entertainment, with powerful long-term growth drivers and increasing cultural relevance.” They emphasized that Mutiny’s reputation as a trusted partner to major game franchises aligns perfectly with the Clover Fund’s investment strategy.
Shamrock is acquiring Mutiny from Trailer Park Group, a global entertainment marketing and content production agency that incubated the division in 2021. Geordie Larratt-Smith, CEO of Mutiny, remarked, “We’re elated about partnering with Shamrock, and their support is a testament to our player-first approach. We’ve been fortunate to work with some of the biggest names in gaming, and with Shamrock’s backing, we’re excited to continue scaling Mutiny and expanding our capabilities to help clients better connect with players and communities everywhere.”
Legal advisory for Shamrock Capital was provided by Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP, while Ropes & Gray LLP and Moelis & Company served as legal and financial advisors, respectively, to Trailer Park Group.
Shamrock Capital manages approximately $7 billion in assets as of February 2026, focusing exclusively on investments in media, entertainment, communications, and related sectors. The firm, originally founded in 1978 as the family investment company for the late Roy E. Disney, has evolved into an institutionally backed firm with a diverse group of investors.
Looking ahead, Shamrock plans to leverage its extensive experience in agency investments to support Mutiny’s growth as a standalone business, both organically and through strategic acquisitions, while preserving the unique culture and core values of the agency.
