Prins acquires Sanders Heftrucks, expanding its forklift and internal logistics network in southern Netherlands. Learn about the strategic growth move.

Prins, a specialist in forklift trucks and internal transport solutions based in Maasdijk, Netherlands, has acquired Sanders Heftrucks, a regional forklift dealer located in Helmond. Announced on June 9, 2026, the acquisition marks a significant expansion of Prins’ market position in the southern Netherlands, particularly in Southeast Brabant.

While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, Prins has taken full ownership of Sanders Heftrucks’ business operations and assets. This acquisition increases Prins’ network to four locations, including Maasdijk, Tilburg, Helmond, and Lympne in the UK, aligning with the company’s recently launched ‘Up & Forward’ strategic plan.

Sanders Heftrucks brings 46 years of experience in the internal logistics sector, serving customers in Southeast Brabant with a focus on forklift trucks. The company is recognized for its multi-brand service approach and exclusive importerships of brands such as CESAB, Icem, and Simai.

The integration aims to create a stronger collective by combining the fleets and technical expertise of all locations. This network synergy supports Prins’ five strategic pillars centered on technological innovation, comprehensive service, and reliability. The consolidation is expected to simplify complex logistics processes for customers and maintain continuous operational flow.

For existing customers in the Helmond region, the acquisition promises continuity with familiar personnel and service offerings. Leadership changes include the transition of daily management from Bart Sanders, who has led the company for 22 years, to Judith van Helvoort, the current Manager Operations since 2019. Sales operations will be overseen by Sales Manager Bas van den Heuvel, while Sanders will remain involved as an advisor during the transition.

Industry trends show increasing demand for regional coverage and innovation in internal logistics, driven by more complex supply chains and the rise of electric and automated material handling equipment. Prins’ expanded footprint and enhanced product portfolio, including electric forklifts and automated guided vehicles (AGVs), position the company to meet these evolving market needs.

Operational synergies include cross-selling opportunities, streamlined procurement, and integrated inventory management. The combined service network is expected to improve response times and customer support in the southern Netherlands. However, challenges such as aligning organizational cultures and IT systems integration remain key focus areas during the transition.

Competitively, Prins’ strengthened presence may pressure rivals in the region to pursue similar consolidation or invest in advanced equipment portfolios. The acquisition accelerates industry consolidation in the internal logistics sector.

Looking ahead, Prins plans to leverage the expanded network to drive growth and innovation, reinforcing its role as a proactive partner in internal logistics. Regulatory approvals are not expected to pose significant hurdles, and integration efforts will prioritize customer retention and operational continuity.
