Paladin EnviroTech Acquires R&L Recycling B.V. to Expand European Presence

Paladin EnviroTech has announced the acquisition of R&L Recycling B.V., a Netherlands-based recycler with over 25 years of experience. This deal marks a significant step in Paladin's strategy to expand its footprint in the European market for IT asset disposition and sustainable recycling solutions.

Paladin EnviroTech, a prominent player in IT asset disposition (ITAD) and electronics recycling, has acquired R&L Recycling B.V., a leading recycler based in Helmond, Netherlands. This acquisition, announced on January 13, 2026, underscores Paladin’s commitment to expanding its operations in Europe, driven by increasing demand for compliant and sustainable recycling solutions from hyperscale and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers.

R&L Recycling, founded by CEO Raymond van Melis, has built a strong reputation over its 25 years in the industry, specializing in sustainable materials recovery and ITAD services. The company operates from a strategically located facility in the Netherlands, which spans 129,000 square feet, providing a gateway for servicing clients throughout the European Union.

“Expanding into Europe has been a strategic priority for Paladin, and R&L Recycling is the ideal partner to lead that expansion,” said a Paladin spokesperson. “R&L brings decades of operational expertise and a customer-first mindset that aligns perfectly with our culture.” This acquisition not only establishes a strong foothold for Paladin in Europe but also represents the first phase of its broader growth strategy in the region.

Following the acquisition, R&L Recycling will continue to operate under its existing name, with its current management team remaining in place. Paladin plans to invest in R&L’s infrastructure and technology, leveraging the business as a platform for future expansion across Europe. This move aligns with Paladin’s ongoing initiatives in sustainable materials and critical mineral recovery, including its rare-earth magnet recycling initiative, ReCapture™.

“As we expand into Europe with R&L Recycling, our focus is on supporting customers locally—recovering and processing rare-earth materials within the regions where they are generated,” the spokesperson added. “This partnership creates new opportunities for our employees, customers, and partners while preserving the entrepreneurial culture that has defined R&L from the beginning.”

The acquisition comes at a time when the recycling industry is facing increasing regulatory scrutiny and evolving sustainability expectations. Paladin’s entry into the European market is expected to enhance its competitive position, potentially increasing its market share significantly. The deal value has not been disclosed, but it is anticipated to create synergies through cross-selling ITAD services and shared operational costs.

Looking ahead, Paladin aims to integrate R&L’s operations while navigating potential challenges, including cultural integration and alignment of operational processes. The company is poised to capitalize on the growing demand for sustainable recycling solutions in Europe, positioning itself as a leader in the market.
