NOBIX Group has acquired Albakom, an IT systems house based in Rostock, marking its first entry into the northern German market. This acquisition strengthens NOBIX's expertise in network and IT security, particularly for public sector and medical facilities.

NOBIX Group, a managed service provider focused on medium-sized enterprises backed by Liberta Group, has announced its acquisition of Albakom, an IT systems house located in Rostock, Germany. This strategic move, revealed on February 18, 2026, marks NOBIX’s inaugural entry into the northern German market, significantly enhancing its capabilities in network and IT security, especially for public sector entities and medical facilities.

Albakom, which has evolved over nearly 30 years from a startup to a prominent IT systems house in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, is well-regarded for its expertise in network and IT security. The company collaborates with leading technology providers such as Cisco, SentinelOne, Enginsight, and Dell, serving a diverse clientele that includes municipalities, counties, and various public sector organizations.

The acquisition is expected to expand NOBIX’s regional presence and customer base, aligning with its long-term goal of becoming the leading managed service provider for medium-sized businesses across Germany. Volker Weihs, one of the founders of Albakom, expressed satisfaction with the decision, stating, “The clear strategy, development opportunities, and personal chemistry convinced us to choose NOBIX Group.”

Jörg Wandrey, another founder, added, “With NOBIX, we have found an excellent solution to continue our legacy while providing continuity and growth for our employees and clients.” The existing management team, including Weihs, Wandrey, and Managing Director Kimberly Stocker, will continue to lead Albakom under its established brand.

Andreas Török, CEO of NOBIX Group, emphasized the strategic fit of Albakom within their portfolio, stating, “Albakom perfectly aligns with our strategy focused on regional roots and a comprehensive portfolio of IT services for medium-sized businesses and the public sector.” He noted the extensive projects Albakom has undertaken in the region, highlighting its strong local presence.

Dominik Welz, CFO of NOBIX, elaborated on the M&A process, stating, “From financial structuring to the strategic integration of Albakom’s management, we have set up the M&A process to create sustainable value from day one.” The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but the integration is expected to enhance service delivery and operational efficiencies.

Looking ahead, NOBIX plans to leverage Albakom’s expertise to broaden its service offerings, including managed services such as Workplace, Conference, and Backup-as-a-Service, as well as Managed Print Services and DATEV applications. The acquisition is anticipated to create significant synergies, including cross-selling opportunities and shared operational costs.

As NOBIX integrates Albakom into its operations, it will face challenges such as cultural integration and aligning operational processes. However, the potential for increased market share and enhanced service capabilities positions NOBIX favorably in the competitive landscape of IT services.
