General Atlantic has completed a follow-on investment in Odoo SA, valuing the company at €7 billion. This strategic move allows General Atlantic to acquire an additional minority stake from Wallonie Entreprendre, further solidifying its partnership with the leading open-source software provider.

General Atlantic, a prominent growth investor, has announced the completion of its follow-on investment in Odoo SA, a leading provider of open-source integrated business software applications for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This transaction, which values Odoo at €7 billion, involves the acquisition of an additional minority stake from Wallonie Entreprendre, the investment arm of the Walloon region.

Founded in 2002 by CEO Fabien Pinckaers, Odoo has established itself as a key player in the software industry, offering a comprehensive suite of applications that cater to various business functions, including Finance, Sales, HR, and Marketing. The company’s “open core” philosophy has fostered a vibrant community of developers, resulting in nearly 40,000 software applications available for SMEs. This approach allows businesses to consolidate their software needs into a single, integrated platform at an affordable price.

General Atlantic initially invested in Odoo in 2023, recognizing the company’s extensive product suite and the strength of its open-source developer ecosystem. Since then, the firm has collaborated with Odoo to enhance its operational capabilities, refine its go-to-market strategy, and support its international expansion efforts. Currently, Odoo operates profitably in 180 countries, with its top 15 markets experiencing year-on-year growth exceeding 30%. The company boasts over 170,000 paying customers across five continents.

The latest release, Odoo 19, has further accelerated global adoption by integrating AI features and expanding its suite of business applications. These innovations position Odoo as a preferred choice for SMEs seeking a scalable platform to manage their operations efficiently.

Andrea Calabro, Principal at General Atlantic in EMEA, stated, “Odoo is one of the most exciting software vendors worldwide; it is rare to see this level of growth, at scale, across virtually all countries in the world. The open-source, single-code, single-database platform uniquely positions Odoo to leverage AI and deliver on its mission to provide world-class business software.”

Damien Lourtie, CFO of Wallonie Entreprendre and a member of the Odoo SA Board of Directors, added, “We are pleased to further strengthen our partnership with General Atlantic, initiated in 2023. After this transaction, Wallonie Entreprendre retains a 3% equity stake in Odoo, and we continue to see substantial growth potential over the coming years.”

General Atlantic, established in 1980, has over four decades of experience in providing capital and strategic support to more than 830 companies. The firm manages approximately $118 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2025, and continues to partner with visionary founders and investors to build dynamic businesses.

Looking ahead, the partnership between General Atlantic and Odoo is expected to drive further innovation and market penetration, particularly in high-growth regions. The integration of new technologies and processes will be crucial as both companies work to align their corporate cultures and operational strategies.
