GBC Group has acquired bytewerk Group, a managed services provider based in Fulda, Germany, marking its tenth strategic acquisition. This deal strengthens GBC's capabilities in IT outsourcing and managed services, reinforcing its commitment to growth in the IT sector.

GBC Group, backed by Pride Capital Partners, has announced the acquisition of bytewerk Group, a managed services provider located in Fulda, Germany. This acquisition, which represents GBC Group’s tenth strategic move, is aimed at enhancing its capabilities in IT outsourcing, IT security, IT consulting, and managed services. The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Founded in 2020, GBC Group has rapidly established itself as a key player in the IT and software services industry, focusing on efficient and sustainable growth through digitalization. With over 500 employees across 15 locations, GBC Group offers a wide range of services, including cloud infrastructure, managed services, and IT security.

The bytewerk Group, which includes the IT system houses bytewerk and Microbee, provides a comprehensive portfolio of IT services and hardware solutions. The company has built a strong reputation for its pragmatic approach and reliability, serving a diverse client base with strategic advisory, operational implementation, and ongoing support.

Simon Weber, the former Managing Director of bytewerk, will continue to lead the company within the GBC Group. This continuity is expected to benefit customers, employees, and partners alike. “Simon Weber and his team have built bytewerk into one of the strongest IT service providers in their region — pragmatic, close to customers, reliable. That is exactly how we’re building the GBC Group,” said a GBC Group spokesperson.

The acquisition is part of GBC Group’s ongoing buy-and-build strategy, which aims to establish a leading managed services organization with a scalable and profitable business model. This strategic move not only strengthens GBC Group’s position in the German IT market but also enhances its managed services portfolio and broadens its IT consulting capabilities.

As GBC Group integrates bytewerk into its operations, it anticipates several synergies, including cross-selling opportunities and improved service delivery through combined expertise. However, the integration process may present challenges, such as cultural alignment and maintaining service continuity during the transition.

Looking ahead, GBC Group is poised to leverage bytewerk’s regional reputation to attract new clients while utilizing its resources to scale operations. This acquisition underscores GBC Group’s commitment to building a robust IT services platform and expanding its footprint in the competitive German IT landscape.
