Flix, a global leader in travel technology, announced today its acquisition of a majority stake in Flibco, a prominent European airport transfer platform. This move aims to bolster Flix's presence in the airport shuttle market and accelerate Flibco's growth within the Flix Group.
Flix, recognized as a leader in the travel-tech industry, has taken a significant step in expanding its service offerings by acquiring a majority share of Flibco, a leading airport transfer platform based in Luxembourg. The announcement was made on January 13, 2026, marking a strategic move to enhance Flix’s portfolio in the airport shuttle segment.
The acquisition allows Flix to leverage Flibco’s established network, which operates in seven European countries, including Belgium, France, and Germany. Flibco, which is currently owned by SLG (formerly Sales-Lentz Group), will continue to operate under its brand while SLG retains a minority stake and remains a strategic partner.
André Schwämmlein, CEO of Flix, emphasized the importance of this acquisition, stating, “Over the years, we have learned that customers are looking for reliable and affordable ways to get to and from airports – not just between cities. This investment allows us to expand into the airport shuttle segment in a targeted way.”
Flix has already established airport shuttle services in markets such as Sweden and aims to build on Flibco’s expertise to scale dedicated airport connections. Flibco’s asset-light operating model and focus on digital innovation align closely with Flix’s approach, making this acquisition a natural fit.
Flibco has positioned itself as a key player in the airport transportation sector, offering services at major European airports, including Brussels South Charleroi and Frankfurt. The company is known for its eco-friendly shuttle buses equipped with modern technology, providing passengers with a comfortable travel experience.
Tobias Stüber, CEO of Flibco, remarked on the partnership, stating, “The partnership with Flix marks the next milestone in Flibco’s successful growth story. We share the same vision of making affordable and sustainable mobility accessible to everyone.”
As part of the integration, Flibco’s routes will soon be available on the Flix platform, allowing customers to combine airport shuttles with Flix’s broader travel offerings. The management team and employees of Flibco will remain in place, ensuring continuity in operations from their headquarters in Luxembourg.
Looking ahead, Flix aims to transform the collective transport sector by providing sustainable and affordable travel solutions across more than 40 countries. The company is committed to achieving Net Zero operations in Europe by 2040 and globally by 2050, reflecting its dedication to sustainable travel.
This acquisition not only enhances Flix’s market position but also signals a growing trend in the travel industry towards integrated mobility solutions that cater to evolving consumer demands.
