Baird Capital Closes Third Global Fund at $450 Million Hard Cap, More Than 30% Above Predecessor

Baird Capital, the global private equity arm of Robert W. Baird & Co., has announced the final close of its third Global Fund at $450 million in committed capital — hitting its hard cap and exceeding its predecessor fund by more than 30%. The close was announced on April 21, 2026, and includes commitments from all prior anchor investors, reflecting continued confidence in the firm’s strategy despite a persistently challenging fundraising environment. Additional investor demand existed beyond the hard cap, but Baird Capital elected to maintain the $450 million size to preserve the discipline and differentiation that characterises its lower-middle market approach.

Global Fund III makes growth equity and buyout investments of $25 million to $75 million in B2B technology and services companies generating revenues between $10 million and $100 million. The fund focuses exclusively on lower-middle market, founder-led businesses in the United States and United Kingdom, where Baird Capital positions itself as the first institutional investor. Its dual-geography platform — with offices in Chicago and London — enables the firm to support companies pursuing transatlantic growth, while a global operational toolkit and flexible capital solutions differentiate its offering in an increasingly competitive market.

The fund has already deployed capital into three initial investments: Evolute IQ, a UK-based native AI platform; Rapid Energy, a UK provider of emergency and planned temperature-control hire solutions; and autoLOTO, a US-based software and services company that automates Lockout/Tagout safety procedures for industrial organisations.

Gordon Pan, President of Baird Capital, highlighted the close as a validation of investor trust in the platform and its disciplined focus on founder-led businesses at the lower end of the middle market. James Benfield, Partner at Baird Capital in London, underscored the firm’s transatlantic footprint as a key competitive differentiator, citing longstanding experience on both sides of the Atlantic as a clear right to win in a homogenous private equity landscape.
