Van Dorp has reached an agreement to acquire Kop Groep, a company specializing in building security and ICT solutions. The deal, announced on June 5, 2026, aims to strengthen Van Dorp’s existing capabilities in fire and intrusion protection as well as digital infrastructure and network systems.
Kop Groep employs 50 people and reports annual revenues of €8.3 million. The acquisition is a full takeover, with Van Dorp acquiring 100% ownership. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Van Dorp is a well-established player in the building security and ICT sector, offering a range of services that include installation and management of security systems and ICT infrastructure. Kop Groep complements this with its expertise in delivering integrated security and ICT solutions to a diverse client base.
Rick van Dorp, Director of Strategy at Van Dorp, highlights the strategic value of the acquisition: “With Kop Groep, we bring in an entrepreneurial and skilled organization with deep knowledge in building security and ICT. Their expertise spans fire and intrusion protection to digital infrastructure, networks, and computer systems. We are pleased to integrate this knowledge into Van Dorp and look forward to the opportunities this creates for our clients.”
Rens Krijgsman, owner of Kop Groep, expressed confidence in the partnership: “Kop Groep has developed strongly in security and ICT over recent years. We are proud of this progress and ready for the next phase, where further growth is both possible and desirable. Van Dorp is a partner that shares our long-term vision and commitment to people, customers, and quality. This gives us great confidence to take the next steps together.”
The integration will maintain continuity for Kop Groep’s clients, with the Kop Beveiliging and Kop ICT brand names remaining in use for the time being. Existing customers will retain their contact persons and continue to receive the same level of service and quality. The current management team will remain responsible for daily operations, while Van Dorp will oversee collaboration through its Van Dorp Gebouwbeveiliging division, focusing on further development of security and ICT services.
The acquisition is expected to generate synergies by enabling cross-selling of integrated security and ICT solutions, expanding service offerings to new customer segments, and leveraging Kop Groep’s technical expertise to enhance project scope. Operational efficiencies are anticipated through consolidation of back-office functions, streamlined procurement, and optimized technology platforms.
Market analysts note that this acquisition strengthens Van Dorp’s position in the Dutch building security and ICT market by broadening its portfolio to include fire and intrusion security systems alongside enhanced ICT infrastructure and network services. The move reflects a broader industry trend toward integrated security and digital solutions, with competitors likely to respond through alliances or technology investments.
Challenges ahead include aligning corporate cultures, integrating IT systems, retaining key technical staff, and managing client expectations during the transition. However, the combined entity aims to accelerate growth, improve customer retention, and innovate in integrated building security and ICT offerings.
Van Dorp’s acquisition of Kop Groep marks a significant step in expanding its service capabilities and market reach. The companies plan to maintain operational stability while exploring new opportunities created by their combined expertise.
