Svanehoj Acquires H&K Services to Expand Benelux Marine Service Network

Svanehoj acquires H&K Services B.V. to expand marine pump service capabilities in Benelux. Learn about the strategic deal and market impact.

Svanehoj, a global leader in marine pumping solutions, has acquired H&K Services B.V., a Dutch specialist in servicing and repairing technical equipment for gas and chemical tankers. The acquisition, announced on May 12, 2026, will see H&K Services operate under the Svanehoj EPS brand from its existing facility in Stellendam, Netherlands, near Svanehoj’s main regional service hub in Oud Gastel.

While the financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the acquisition represents a full 100% stake in H&K Services. This move follows Svanehoj’s 2025 acquisition of European Pumps Services (EPS) B.V., further consolidating its service footprint in the Benelux maritime market.

H&K Services is recognized for its deep technical expertise in Svanehoj’s deepwell pump solutions and maintains strong relationships with shipowners and shipyards. The company’s current operations in Stellendam will continue, focusing on servicing large pumps requiring overhaul. Leadership will remain stable, with Managing Director Frank Hansen overseeing the integration and founder John Huizer continuing as Technical Manager. Co-owner Bert De Korte plans to retire following the acquisition.

Svanehoj, headquartered in Denmark, specializes in marine and energy sector pumping solutions, offering a broad portfolio including fuel gas pumps, compressor systems, and tank control systems. Its service network spans key global hubs including Denmark, Singapore, Dubai, and the Netherlands. The acquisition of H&K Services enhances Svanehoj’s aftermarket service capabilities, particularly for gas and chemical tanker pumps, and supports its strategy to grow recurring revenue through expanded service contracts.

“With this acquisition, we further strengthen our presence and capabilities in a key hub for international shipping,” says Søren Kringelholt Nielsen, Group CEO at Svanehoj. “We see significant potential to expand our service and repair activities for gas pumps in the region, and H&K Services will support this through its specialist expertise, local presence, and strong customer relationships.”

The deal aligns with broader industry trends emphasizing the importance of aftermarket services in marine engineering, driven by increasing demand for maintenance of LNG, ammonia, and CO2 carrier pump systems. Svanehoj’s expanded service offering positions it competitively against peers, who may need to enhance their own service networks to keep pace.

Financial details remain confidential, but the acquisition is expected to generate synergies by cross-selling service contracts to existing Svanehoj customers and expanding offerings to H&K’s client base. Operational efficiencies will arise from consolidating service operations, streamlining procurement, and sharing technical expertise across the combined teams.

Looking ahead, Svanehoj plans to integrate H&K Services fully into its EPS operations while maintaining the Stellendam workshop to meet high demand for pump overhauls. The company will focus on retaining key technical personnel and ensuring a smooth customer transition to unified service offerings.

This acquisition reinforces Svanehoj’s commitment to delivering comprehensive marine pump solutions and aftermarket services, supporting long-term growth in the Benelux and broader European markets.
