O2 Investment Partners, a Midwestern private equity firm, has entered into a partnership with Atlas Asphalt, a family-owned commercial paving services company headquartered in Islandia, New York. The investment aims to support Atlas Asphalt’s rapid growth and expansion in the Northeast region. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1988, Atlas Asphalt is currently led by second-generation owners Tyler and Jordan Cianciulli, who took over the business in 2018. Under their leadership, the company has accelerated its growth trajectory by focusing on commercial verticals and expanding its service offerings. Atlas Asphalt provides a comprehensive range of maintenance paving services, including asphalt and concrete paving, sealcoating, crack filling, line striping and marking, parking signage, drainage repair, and other maintenance programs.

O2 Investment Partners specializes in acquiring majority interests in lower middle market B2B services, technology, and select industrial companies. The firm focuses on businesses with strong earnings growth potential and collaborates closely with management teams to drive value creation. The investment is supported by financing from Tree Line Capital Partners, with Protegrity Advisors serving as financial advisor to Atlas Asphalt. The partnership is expected to enable Atlas to leverage economies of scale in procurement, optimize fleet and resource utilization, and enhance project management and safety standards.

Atlas Asphalt currently services over 20 states across the Northeast and broader coastal region, maintaining strong relationships with large commercial clients and general contractors. The company’s strategy of largely self-performing jobs supports its commitment to speed, dependability, service quality, and safety.

The commercial paving industry in the Northeast remains highly fragmented, with many smaller providers competing for market share. This partnership is anticipated to accelerate industry consolidation by strengthening Atlas Asphalt’s market position and enabling expansion into underserved adjacent markets. Competitors may respond with their own M&A activity or increased investment in operational efficiency and service quality.
