VDK Groep Acquires EPM B.V. to Strengthen Market Position

VDK Groep has acquired EPM B.V., a family-owned electrical engineering firm based in Maastricht, marking its second significant acquisition in Limburg in 2026. This move solidifies VDK Groep's status as Europe's fastest-growing installation company.

VDK Groep, headquartered in Zwolle and backed by EMK Capital, has announced the acquisition of EPM B.V., a well-established electrical engineering company located in Maastricht. This acquisition, which is VDK Groep’s second major deal in Limburg this year, reinforces its position as a leading player in the installation sector across Europe.

EPM B.V. has been a family-run business since its founding in 1966, boasting over 60 years of experience in electrical engineering. The company has developed a strong market presence in South and Central Limburg, primarily focusing on electrical engineering while also offering services in security, maintenance, inspections, and training. Historically, EPM was involved in retail, but it phased out these operations by the end of the 20th century to concentrate on its core competencies.

The strategic rationale behind this acquisition is clear. Frans van der Kolk, founder and CEO of VDK Groep, stated, “After our recent acquisitions, we are the largest installer in South and Central Limburg. EPM is a respected player that fits perfectly into our family of installation companies.” This acquisition is expected to create synergies, including cross-selling opportunities and expanded service offerings to existing clients.

Market analysts note that this acquisition comes at a time when the installation services sector is experiencing significant growth, driven by increasing demand for electrical engineering solutions. VDK Groep’s enhanced market share will likely provide a competitive edge, particularly in the Limburg region.

While the financial details of the deal remain undisclosed, the integration of EPM into VDK Groep is expected to be smooth, with key management personnel, including Erwin Hermans and Jurre Stassen, remaining involved to ensure continuity. Hermans expressed optimism about the future, stating, “We look forward to a future within VDK Groep, recognizing our shared core values of trust, passion, respect, and enjoyment.”

Looking ahead, VDK Groep plans to leverage EPM’s established customer relationships, which often result in multi-year contracts, to drive revenue growth. The integration process will focus on aligning operational systems and maintaining the strong customer relationships that EPM has cultivated over the years.

As VDK Groep continues to expand its footprint in the installation sector, this acquisition positions the company for sustained growth and increased market penetration in the Limburg region.
