Vitec Software Group Acquires 75% of Autonet B.V.

On January 29, Vitec Software Group AB announced its acquisition of a 75% stake in Autonet B.V., a Dutch software company specializing in solutions for the automotive dismantling sector. This move aims to strengthen Vitec's market presence in Europe.

Vitec Software Group AB (publ) has taken a significant step in expanding its footprint in the Vertical Market Software sector by acquiring a 75% stake in Autonet B.V., a Dutch software company, on January 29. The acquisition is expected to enhance Vitec’s earnings per share immediately and marks a strategic move into the automotive dismantling software market.

Autonet B.V., based in the Netherlands, reported annual sales of €4.5 million for the 2025 financial year. The company specializes in mission-critical software solutions for the automotive dismantling sector, providing essential services such as vehicle registration, inventory management, and e-commerce solutions for selling used car parts. With a strong market position in the Netherlands, Autonet is poised for growth under Vitec’s ownership.

The acquisition structure allows Autonet’s management team to retain minority shares, ensuring continuity in operations. Vitec plans to gradually increase its ownership to 100% by 2029, with the initial payment made in cash. Olle Backman, CEO and President of Vitec Software Group, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “Autonet is a well-managed company with a business model and product offering that aligns perfectly with our acquisition criteria. We are pleased to warmly welcome all 22 employees to Vitec.”

Vitec, headquartered in Umeå, Sweden, is a leading provider of Vertical Software, focusing on niche markets. The company reported net sales of SEK 3,334 million in 2024 and employs approximately 1,770 individuals. The acquisition of Autonet is expected to create synergies, including cross-selling opportunities within Vitec’s existing customer base and the expansion of Autonet’s e-commerce solutions.

As the automotive software sector continues to evolve, Vitec’s acquisition positions it favorably against competitors. The integration of Autonet’s software solutions into Vitec’s platforms is anticipated to streamline inventory management processes and enhance product offerings. However, challenges may arise during the integration phase, particularly in aligning product development strategies and managing customer expectations.

Looking ahead, Vitec aims to leverage Autonet’s capabilities to explore international growth opportunities, particularly in Belgium and potentially other European markets. The acquisition is a testament to Vitec’s long-term commitment to growth through strategic acquisitions and innovation.
