Vitec Software Group AB (publ), a leading provider of vertical market software based in Umeå, Sweden, has acquired 100% of the shares in AtermIT Holding B.V., a Dutch software company specializing in maternity and post-natal care solutions. The acquisition, announced on October 6, 2026, was completed in cash and includes AtermIT’s subsidiaries.
AtermIT reported a pro-forma revenue of EUR 3.2 million for the 2025 financial year. The company develops and delivers Atermes, a comprehensive software platform that supports maternity care throughout pregnancy, birth, and post-natal stages. AtermIT is the market leader in post-natal care software in the Netherlands, serving post-natal care organizations, self-employed maternity care professionals, and obstetric practices.
Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Lelystad near Amsterdam, AtermIT employs 16 staff members. The company recently expanded its offerings for obstetricians and midwives through the acquisition of Vrumun, further broadening its maternity care platform.
Olle Backman, CEO of Vitec Software Group, commented, “AtermIT is a well-managed, entrepreneurial business whose business model and product offering align well with our acquisition criteria. We are now taking over as its long-term owner, while key employees will remain with the company. AtermIT creates value for society and takes a long-term perspective – qualities we value highly. The company is a strong fit for our Group, and we warmly welcome the entire team to Vitec.”
Johan Deurwaarder, founder and CEO of AtermIT, added, “For me and the owners, it has been important to find a strong long-term home for AtermIT that supports the company’s ambitions for further growth and development. We believe that becoming part of Vitec provides AtermIT with additional expertise, scale and opportunities to further strengthen and develop its offering.”
Vitec Software Group, listed on Nasdaq Stockholm, employs approximately 1,870 people and reported net sales of SEK 3,633 million in 2025. The company focuses on developing software tailored to specific niche markets, emphasizing long-term growth through organic development and acquisitions.
The acquisition is expected to deliver an immediate increase in earnings per share for Vitec, with consolidation effective from the acquisition date. Strategic synergies include cross-selling opportunities, expanded platform capabilities, and operational efficiencies through shared resources and streamlined product development.
Market analysts note that this deal strengthens Vitec’s position in the Dutch vertical market software segment, particularly in maternity and post-natal care where AtermIT holds a leading market share. The integration will focus on retaining key AtermIT employees to maintain product expertise and customer relationships, while aligning product roadmaps to enhance end-to-end maternity care solutions.
Industry observers expect increased consolidation in vertical market software, with competitors likely to respond through acquisitions or partnerships to maintain competitive positioning. Potential integration challenges include aligning corporate cultures and ensuring smooth operational and financial consolidation without disrupting customer service.
Looking ahead, Vitec aims to leverage AtermIT’s strong market position and entrepreneurial culture to accelerate growth in the Netherlands and explore expansion into other European healthcare verticals. The acquisition complements Vitec’s strategy of expanding its vertical software leadership through targeted acquisitions and product innovation.
