Van der Ende Group acquires Hortispeed, adding Ecofilter and O2 Solutions to strengthen water treatment in Controlled Environment Agriculture.

Van der Ende Group, a leading provider of industrial water treatment and filtration solutions, has acquired the business activities of Hortispeed, a specialist in high-speed horticultural water treatment technologies. The acquisition, announced on June 2, 2026, includes Hortispeed’s renowned product lines Ecofilter, O2 Solutions, and Trumma Filter, which are recognized for their innovative approaches to water filtration and oxygen optimization.

This strategic move broadens Van der Ende Group’s portfolio, reinforcing its role as a comprehensive supplier of water treatment, filtration, and water quality solutions within the Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) sector. The transaction’s financial terms have not been disclosed.

Van der Ende Group operates across multiple industrial segments, offering pumps, water and filtration solutions, climate control, process equipment, and technical accessories. Hortispeed complements this with its specialized technologies, including Ecofilter’s band filters for solid removal, O2 Solutions’ nanobubble oxygenation technology, and Trumma Filter’s filtration systems. These technologies are deployed globally to improve water quality and efficiency in various CEA applications.

According to Lex van der Ende, CEO of Van der Ende Group, “This acquisition significantly enhances our product offering and strengthens our international market position in water treatment. The integration of Hortispeed’s technologies aligns perfectly with our existing solutions, enabling us to provide customers worldwide with innovative and reliable water management systems.”

The acquisition supports Van der Ende Group’s ambition to expand its international footprint and respond to the growing demand for sustainable, high-quality water management solutions in horticulture. By combining expertise and technologies, the company aims to deliver a more integrated and efficient product suite to its customers.

To ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity, Hortispeed’s founder, Cees de Haan, will remain involved during the integration phase. He will assist with knowledge transfer, product development, and the alignment of Hortispeed’s technologies within Van der Ende Group’s broader portfolio. This approach aims to preserve service quality and customer trust while enabling scale and professionalization.

Van der Ende Group plans a phased integration, initially focusing on stability for customers, suppliers, and partners. Concurrently, the company will harmonize product documentation, processes, and market positioning. This measured approach is designed to maintain market confidence and create a foundation for future growth.

The combined technologies will be showcased together for the first time at GreenTech Amsterdam 2026, highlighting the enhanced capabilities of Van der Ende Group in the water treatment sector.

The acquisition is expected to generate synergies through cross-selling opportunities, supply chain consolidation, and joint research and development efforts. However, challenges such as aligning product development cycles and managing cultural integration between the industrial and horticultural units remain key focus areas.

Overall, this acquisition marks a significant step in Van der Ende Group’s strategy to become a leading global player in water technology solutions for Controlled Environment Agriculture.
