Mutsaerts Natuursteen BV has acquired 100% of Michel Oprey Slabs, a transaction announced on September 29, 2026, aimed at broadening its position in the natural stone and ceramic sectors for premium facade and interior applications. Concurrently with the acquisition, Dutch private equity firm 365 Capital invested in Mutsaerts Natuursteen to support the company in its next phase of growth. Financial terms of both transactions were not disclosed.
Founded in 2003, Mutsaerts Natuursteen BV is a specialist in natural stone and ceramic solutions, providing end-to-end services from engineering and procurement to processing in its own workshops and on-site installation. The company operates alongside sister entities including Van Stokkum, Brabant Stone, Van Houts and ZNC. CEO Niels Mutsaerts continues to lead the company alongside his management team.
Michel Oprey Slabs focuses on the supply and processing of natural stone slabs, complementing Mutsaerts’ existing product and service offering. The acquisition represents a further step in Mutsaerts’ growth strategy, combining organic expansion with targeted acquisitions to strengthen its market presence.
The strategic rationale behind the acquisition centers on expanding Mutsaerts’ product portfolio and enhancing its ability to serve complex facade and interior projects. By combining its activities with Michel Oprey Slabs, Mutsaerts can broaden its natural stone and ceramic offering, cross-sell products across the combined customer base and strengthen its procurement, processing and supply chain capabilities.
The simultaneous investment by 365 Capital provides Mutsaerts with a private equity partner to support this growth strategy. The partnership is expected to provide additional resources and expertise for further organic development and potential buy-and-build opportunities, with Michel Oprey Slabs forming part of the company’s broader expansion strategy.
Operational synergies between Mutsaerts and Michel Oprey Slabs may include shared manufacturing capabilities, streamlined logistics and enhanced engineering and project management capabilities. The combination strengthens Mutsaerts’ ability to provide integrated services covering the process from design and material sourcing through processing and installation.
Together, the acquisition of Michel Oprey Slabs and the investment by 365 Capital position Mutsaerts for its next phase of growth in the natural stone and ceramics market. Mutsaerts intends to build on its existing position in premium construction applications while pursuing further organic growth and acquisition opportunities.
