Iver Group Acquires Business in Wind to Expand Wind Turbine Services

Iver Group acquires Business in Wind, enhancing wind turbine services and expanding European reach. Learn about the strategic acquisition and future plans.

Gate Invest-backed Iver Group has acquired Business in Wind, a specialist in complex turbine projects and refurbishment. The deal was announced on July 13, 2026. This strategic move combines the strengths of two experienced players in the wind sector, enhancing Iver Group’s position as a full-service partner with expanded international reach.

While the financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, the deal involves a full 100% stake acquisition. Business in Wind will continue to operate as an independent brand within Iver Group during the initial integration phase. Both companies plan to explore collaboration opportunities to maximize value for customers, partners, and employees, prioritizing continuity throughout the transition.

Business in Wind brings deep expertise in handling larger and more complex turbines, with specialized knowledge of Vestas and Enercon models. The company has a strong track record in international projects across the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Nordics, and Ukraine. Its capabilities include refurbishment and overhaul services, such as dismantling, overhauling, and reinstalling used turbines and components.

Iver Group complements this with a broad service organization experienced in maintenance, assembly, disassembly, main component replacements, and turbine lifecycle management. With over 25 years of experience, Iver supports customers throughout Europe and beyond, focusing on safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.

John van Soest, CEO of Iver Group, highlights the strategic fit: “Business in Wind has a great deal of specialist knowledge and a team with years of experience in the wind sector. That expertise and entrepreneurial mindset are a strong fit with Iver. Together, we can support our customers even more broadly, both in the Netherlands and beyond. With this step, we are investing in craftsmanship, continuity and future-proof growth.”

Wim Robbertsen, CEO of Business in Wind, adds, “By sharing our knowledge and network, and by holding on to our ‘doing what we promise’ mentality, we have every confidence in a sustainable future. Our expertise in dismantling and installing used wind turbines, overhauling components in our own workshop and supplying wind turbine parts for various brands will continue in the trusted way our customers and partners know us for.”

The acquisition aligns with Iver Group’s growth ambitions, supported by Dutch investment firm Gate Invest since 2021. The combined entity aims to deliver comprehensive lifecycle services for wind turbines, leveraging synergies in operational efficiency, expanded service offerings, and geographic expansion into key European markets.

Industry experts note that this consolidation reflects broader trends in the renewable energy sector, where companies seek to enhance service capabilities and geographic footprint to meet growing demand for wind energy solutions. The integration of Business in Wind’s refurbishment and overhaul expertise is expected to improve asset utilization and customer retention.

Looking ahead, Iver Group and Business in Wind will focus on aligning organizational cultures and operational processes while managing cross-border regulatory challenges. The partnership is poised to strengthen competitive positioning amid accelerating industry consolidation.

Both companies emphasize continuity for customers and employees during the integration, with existing contacts remaining in place. This acquisition marks a significant step in Iver Group’s strategy to become a leading full-service provider in the wind energy sector across Europe and beyond.
