Eraneos acquires DEUS to enhance AI transformation services and accelerate enterprise AI adoption across Europe. Learn more about the deal and strategy.
Deutsche Private Equity-backed Eraneos, an international consulting group headquartered in Switzerland, has expanded its AI transformation capabilities by acquiring DEUS, a specialist in human-centered AI solutions based in Amsterdam. Announced on May 19, 2026, the deal aims to create a European powerhouse that supports organizations in moving from AI experimentation to fully integrated, agentic AI operations.
While the financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed, Eraneos reported revenues exceeding EUR 300 million in 2025 and employs approximately 1,300 professionals across Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the US. DEUS brings a team of over 100 specialists focused on AI architecture, engineering, user experience, and strategy, with offices in Amsterdam, Porto, and A Coruña.
Eraneos has established a strong position in AI-driven transformation, offering integrated services spanning strategy, organizational design, and technology implementation. DEUS complements this by delivering AI-powered products and services designed for adoption and trust, addressing a key market challenge where many organizations struggle to scale AI pilots into enterprise-wide performance.
Oliver Vaterlaus, CEO of Eraneos Group, highlights the strategic fit: “DEUS brings specialized depth in designing AI experiences and quantifying actual value which accelerates what we deliver at scale. Together, we share the ambition to help organizations lead in a world shaped by AI. We are the partner they turn to when AI is no longer an optional strategy, but the core of how they operate.”
DEUS’s Founding Partner, Ron Vrijmoet, adds, “The real measure of any AI initiative is whether it builds something that people love to use and gives them back time for what truly matters. Joining Eraneos gives us the consulting depth and business insight to take our mission further.”
The combined entity aims to serve as an AI center of excellence, integrating expertise across data, engineering, organizational transformation, and experience design. Claudia Schulze, Group AI Lead at Eraneos, states, “What we are building is an AI-first consultancy for the agentic age: one that helps leaders move from isolated AI initiatives to organization-wide impact – liberating human judgement, deepening trust, and creating empowering experiences for the people who use these systems every day.”
This acquisition reflects a distinctly European approach to AI transformation, emphasizing responsibility, transparency, and long-term value for companies and society. The deal strengthens Eraneos’s market position amid accelerating demand for AI-driven business transformation across sectors such as financial services, transportation, energy, and life sciences.
Strategically, the integration is expected to generate synergies by cross-selling AI services to Eraneos’s existing consulting clients, expanding AI-driven digital transformation offerings, and leveraging combined client networks to secure larger projects. Operational efficiencies will arise from consolidating administrative functions, sharing technology infrastructure, and streamlining sales efforts.
Challenges include aligning corporate cultures, integrating technology platforms, retaining key talent, and ensuring seamless client transitions without service disruption. The move also intensifies competitive pressure on European consulting firms lacking deep AI capabilities, potentially accelerating further consolidation in the sector.
Looking ahead, Eraneos plans to integrate DEUS’s AI expertise into its broader consulting frameworks to accelerate innovation, expand into new industry verticals, and drive higher-margin engagements. The combined firm is positioned to lead the European AI transformation market by delivering responsible, scalable AI solutions that empower organizations and their people.
