De Groot Installatiegroep, one of the largest family-owned installation companies in the Netherlands, has completed the acquisition of TMCDAS B.V., a leading developer and service provider of type-A evacuation alarm systems. The deal, announced on April 14, 2026, marks a strategic expansion into a specialized niche within the fire safety and installation market.

Founded in 2010 following the acquisition of Taxametercentrale’s type-A evacuation alarm activities, TMCDAS B.V. is headquartered in Heerhugowaard. The company is recognized for its expertise in the development, production, installation, service, and maintenance of high-quality type-A evacuation alarm installations, which are critical for building fire safety compliance. TMCDAS also develops OEM products for suppliers and installers, adding a manufacturing dimension to its operations.

While the financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, De Groot Installatiegroep has acquired 100% ownership of TMCDAS. The existing TMCDAS workforce will be integrated into De Groot’s team, with the Heerhugowaard location remaining operational to ensure continuity of service and maintain established client relationships.

Marcel de Groot, CEO of De Groot Installatiegroep, emphasized the strategic fit of the acquisition: “TMCDAS B.V. is a leading player in a highly specialized segment that complements our existing capabilities. This acquisition aligns with our strategic plan to expand into niche markets and strengthen our position as a knowledge-driven organization.”

Lucien Slippens, representing TMCDAS, described the acquisition as a logical step to secure the company’s future growth and sustainability: “The takeover allows us to preserve the company for future generations while continuing to build on growth and development.”

The acquisition addresses a succession challenge at TMCDAS, where current shareholders lacked a suitable internal successor. De Groot Installatiegroep was selected for its compatible corporate culture, operational expertise, and shared entrepreneurial values, ensuring minimal disruption to TMCDAS’s business model and client service.

Industry analysts note that this deal strengthens De Groot’s market position by adding a specialized fire safety product line to its portfolio, enabling cross-selling opportunities and expanding OEM product offerings through its distribution channels. Operational synergies are expected through shared procurement and administrative efficiencies, while retaining TMCDAS’s operational base supports service continuity.

The Dutch installation and fire safety market is experiencing consolidation, with companies seeking to broaden their technical expertise and product ranges to meet evolving regulatory and safety standards. De Groot’s acquisition of TMCDAS positions it competitively against peers by integrating a unique specialization in type-A evacuation alarms.

Looking ahead, De Groot plans to leverage its organizational resources to accelerate TMCDAS’s entrepreneurial growth while preserving its company culture. The integration will focus on aligning business processes and knowledge transfer, with an emphasis on maintaining customer relationships and service quality.

Regulatory approvals were not highlighted as a concern, and the acquisition is expected to complete smoothly. This move signals De Groot Installatiegroep’s commitment to expanding its technical capabilities and reinforcing its leadership in the Dutch installation sector.
