Bambuu Groep, a prominent player in the Dutch digital marketing sector, has officially incorporated SEM agency into its group as its creative division. The deal, announced on September 28, 2026, marks a strategic expansion of Bambuu’s service portfolio by adding specialized branding, design, and content capabilities.

SEM agency, founded in 2018 by Suzanne Joosten and Emma van Dijk, has built a reputation as a creative marketing bureau focused on branding, content, social media, and advertising. Despite joining Bambuu, SEM agency will continue to operate under its own name and maintain its team and client relationships.

While the financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, the integration aims to leverage synergies between Bambuu’s digital marketing expertise and SEM agency’s creative strengths. This move enables Bambuu to offer a more comprehensive suite of services to growth-stage Dutch companies, combining digital marketing with impactful creative branding under one roof.

According to Erik Dijkman, General Director and Partner at Bambuu, the acquisition fulfills a long-standing goal to unify creative and marketing services. “We have collaborated with SEM agency on various projects and recognized their ability to translate brands into memorable design and content. Bringing them fully into the Bambuu Group allows us to deliver integrated solutions more efficiently,” he said.

The deal follows Bambuu’s earlier acquisition of AI development firm STAIBL, reflecting a broader strategy to build a multi-disciplinary marketing group. By consolidating creative and digital capabilities, Bambuu aims to streamline project workflows, reduce reliance on external partners, and accelerate go-to-market timelines for clients.

The integration also addresses current market trends emphasizing the balance between AI-driven marketing technologies and human creativity. Bambuu highlights the importance of maintaining SEM agency’s creative culture and brand identity while aligning operational processes across the group.

Clients of both Bambuu and SEM agency will experience minimal disruption, retaining their existing contacts and project plans. However, they will gain access to a wider range of services and expertise within the expanded group structure.

Industry observers note that this acquisition strengthens Bambuu’s position as a top-tier mid-sized marketing group in the Netherlands, potentially prompting competitors to pursue similar consolidations to offer integrated creative and digital services.

Looking ahead, Bambuu plans to support SEM agency’s growth by providing additional resources and leveraging its client base. The group aims to capitalize on the evolving marketing landscape by combining technology, creativity, and strategic insight to serve Dutch growth companies more effectively.
