Apave Acquires De Duurzame Adviseurs to Boost ESG Services

Apave launches Apave Impact and acquires Dutch decarbonisation firm DDA, expanding ESG consulting in Benelux. Learn more about this strategic move.

Apave, an international leader in risk management backed by PAI Partners, announces the creation of Apave Impact, a new subsidiary focused exclusively on sustainability and ESG services. This strategic move is immediately supported by the acquisition of De Duurzame Adviseurs (DDA), a prominent Dutch consultancy specializing in decarbonisation and environmental transitions.

While the financial terms of the acquisition remain undisclosed, the deal represents a significant step in Apave’s ESG strategic plan. DDA, with over 20 years of experience, has built a strong reputation in the Benelux region by assisting SMEs and public institutions in reducing their environmental footprint and complying with evolving sustainability standards.

Apave Impact will leverage DDA’s expertise to enhance its “Green & Social” service offerings. The acquisition also establishes Apave’s presence in the Netherlands, a key European hub for sustainability innovation, enabling the Group to accelerate growth across the Benelux axis and provide international clients with access to advanced decarbonisation consultancy.

Founded over 150 years ago, Apave operates globally with nearly €1.9 billion in projected revenue for 2025 and a workforce of 18,500 employees across almost 60 countries. The Group offers a broad range of services including inspection, certification, vocational training, testing, consulting, and technical support, serving both private and public sector clients.

Apave Impact distinguishes itself by focusing on “practical sustainability,” combining technical expertise with operational experience tailored to clients’ specific industries. Its services cover the full sustainability transition spectrum—from emissions measurement and ecological assessments to decarbonisation roadmap development and regulatory compliance management.

“Through integrating DDA, we reach a new technical and organisational milestone in delivering practical sustainability,” said Apave executives. “This merger reinforces our role as a trusted third party essential for securing sustainable business models.”

DDA’s management team expressed optimism about joining Apave Impact, highlighting the opportunity to combine their CO₂ and ESG expertise with Apave’s broad capabilities to support organisations in the Netherlands and beyond.

The acquisition is expected to generate synergies by cross-selling Apave’s risk management services to DDA’s client base and expanding ESG consulting across Apave’s international network. Operational efficiencies will arise from shared resources and consolidated administrative functions within Apave Impact.

Market analysts note that this deal strengthens Apave’s position as a leading ESG and sustainability service provider in Europe, particularly in the Benelux region, where demand for decarbonisation and ESG compliance services continues to grow amid tightening regulations and increasing corporate transparency requirements.

Looking ahead, Apave plans to integrate DDA’s technical teams and systems into Apave Impact while retaining key talent to maintain client relationships. The Group aims to position Apave Impact as a premier third-party sustainability partner, helping clients transform regulatory obligations into performance drivers.

As ESG consulting becomes increasingly competitive, Apave’s expanded service portfolio and geographic reach may prompt rivals to pursue similar acquisitions or partnerships. The Group’s commitment to practical, operational sustainability solutions positions it well to capture growing market opportunities.
