Main Capital Partners acquires majority stake in Nordic vertical software firm Confirma Software, enhancing growth and market presence across the Nordics.
Main Capital Partners has agreed to acquire a majority stake in Confirma Software, a Nordic vertical software group, from US-based private equity firm Abry Partners. The transaction, announced on September 24, 2026, marks a strategic step to support Confirma’s next growth phase, focusing on operational enhancement and geographic expansion across the Nordics and selected European markets.
Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Stockholm, Confirma Software provides mission-critical B2B software solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark. The company operates in five complementary software segments: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Payment Solutions, Financial Solutions, Quality Management Systems, and Business Process Solutions.
Confirma serves over 25,000 customers, including more than 500 municipalities, supported by approximately 540 employees. Its software supports essential business functions such as accounting, payroll, point-of-sale, payments, receivables management, workforce management, and quality control. The company’s deep local expertise and embedded software solutions have fostered strong customer relationships and a recurring revenue model.
The deal’s financial terms were not disclosed. Main Capital Partners will collaborate closely with Confirma’s management team and key employees to enhance operational capabilities and execute a buy-and-build strategy. This approach aims to strengthen Confirma’s market position by acquiring complementary Nordic software companies and expanding its product offerings.
Wessel Ploegmakers, Partner and Head of Nordics at Main Capital Partners, commented, “Confirma has built an impressive position in the Nordic software market, combining mission-critical products, deep local expertise, and a proven approach to building strong vertical software businesses. We see significant potential to build on this foundation by further expanding Confirma’s offering and market presence, both organically and through strategic acquisitions.”
Jarle Mørk, CEO and Co-Founder of Confirma Software, added, “Since founding Confirma, the ambition has been to build a leading Nordic software group for SMEs by bringing together strong local companies with deep customer relationships and market expertise. We are very pleased to welcome Main Capital as our new majority shareholder. Their extensive experience in B2B software and international network make them a strong partner for Confirma.”
The Nordic vertical software market benefits from ongoing digitalization, increasing regulatory requirements, and market consolidation. Providers with local domain expertise and integrated software solutions, like Confirma, are well positioned to meet evolving SME needs. Main Capital’s acquisition is expected to accelerate Confirma’s growth through cross-selling, geographic expansion, and operational efficiencies.
Key synergies include leveraging Main Capital’s network to enter new Nordic and selected European markets, consolidating administrative functions, streamlining R&D efforts, and enhancing platform integration to improve customer experience and retention.
Challenges ahead include aligning multiple software platforms, retaining key talent, managing cultural integration across Nordic countries, and executing the buy-and-build strategy without disrupting service quality.
The transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals. Both parties anticipate that the partnership will solidify Confirma’s position as a leading Nordic vertical software provider and drive long-term value creation.
