Banyan Software, a Canadian acquirer and long-term operator of specialized software businesses, announces the acquisition of HMM Germany, a Moers-based eHealth platform. The deal, announced on July 10, 2026, marks a strategic move to enhance Banyan’s footprint in the European healthcare software market and accelerate the adoption of AI-driven automation within HMM’s platform.

HMM, founded in 2006, operates X3.Net, a digital platform that facilitates real-time management of approvals, billing, and payments for medical aids. Serving health insurers, medical-device manufacturers, and thousands of healthcare providers across Germany, HMM employs over 200 staff and has built trusted customer relationships over two decades.

The acquisition involves a full 100% stake purchase, although financial terms remain undisclosed. Banyan plans to leverage its permanent capital base and operational expertise to invest in platform enhancements, particularly focusing on integrating AI technologies to improve automation and efficiency.

HMM’s founders sought a partner committed to long-term growth and preserving established customer relationships. “We wanted an owner who would commit to the platform for the long term, invest in it, and stand behind the customer relationships we have spent two decades building. We found that in Banyan,” said HMM’s management team. Banyan’s leadership echoed this commitment, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the Moers-based team and customer trust while backing the platform with substantial investment.

Banyan Software operates over 100 portfolio companies worldwide, focusing on buy-grow-and-hold strategies in specialized industries. This acquisition aligns with Banyan’s approach to expanding AI capabilities and operational discipline across its software holdings.

The deal strengthens Banyan’s position in the European eHealth sector by acquiring a platform with deep market penetration in Germany.
