Almato AG acquires Aristech GmbH to integrate conversational AI with semantic data platform Bardioc, enhancing GDPR-compliant AI solutions.
Almato AG, a prominent European specialist in AI-driven semantic data integration and explainable reasoning, has acquired Aristech GmbH, a German software company focused on AI agents for customer service automation. The transaction, notarized on May 21, 2026, marks a strategic step to integrate Aristech’s AI-based language technology into Almato’s semantic data platform, Bardioc.
While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, Almato has acquired 100% ownership of Aristech. The acquisition aims to combine Almato’s expertise in semantic data processing with Aristech’s operational AI solutions, including voice, email, and chat bots, to deliver a comprehensive European AI stack. The deal faces no antitrust concerns and allows Aristech to retain its brand identity and operational leadership at its Heidelberg headquarters.
Founded in 2012, Aristech specializes in AI agents, voice and email bots, and text-to-speech applications designed to automate customer service processes. Its solutions serve clients with high contact volumes in regulated and data-sensitive sectors, including ADAC, Air France KLM, and the German Federal Employment Agency. Almato, headquartered in Stuttgart with offices in Reutlingen and Barcelona, employs approximately 200 staff developing Bardioc, an AI-powered semantic data platform recognized in 2025 as Europe’s AI-Powered Semantic Data Platform of the Year by CIO Review.
The acquisition enables Almato to expand Bardioc’s capabilities by integrating Aristech’s conversational AI suite, creating an end-to-end platform that supports semantic data intelligence alongside automated customer interactions. This integrated AI stack emphasizes digital sovereignty, GDPR compliance, and transparency, offering European companies a secure alternative to global AI platforms.
Almato’s CEO highlights the strategic importance of combining semantic intelligence with operational AI: “With Aristech, we are expanding our platform specifically where interaction occurs. Our commitment remains unchanged: decisions must be explainable and context-aware. This is precisely where we see the core of the semantic intelligence revolution.” Aristech’s management echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the partnership’s potential to enhance automation solutions while maintaining digital sovereignty and security.
The deal reflects broader industry trends toward operational AI platforms that deliver tangible business value. By uniting semantic data integration with AI-driven customer service automation, Almato strengthens its position in the competitive European AI market. The combined platform targets regulated industries requiring strict data protection, leveraging synergies in R&D, infrastructure, and go-to-market strategies.
Financial details such as valuation and multiples were not disclosed. The companies plan to align product roadmaps and technology stacks carefully to ensure seamless integration while maintaining compliance with evolving data privacy regulations. Aristech will continue operating under its existing management, preserving service continuity for its clients.
Looking ahead, Almato aims to accelerate the development of AI-driven customer service solutions tailored for regulated sectors and expand its market reach across Europe. The acquisition positions Almato as a leading provider of GDPR-compliant AI platforms that combine semantic intelligence with conversational AI, offering a transparent and sovereign alternative to global providers.
