Baltisse-backed PIA Group Acquires Juyst to Expand Presence in South Netherlands

PIA Group acquires Juyst, expanding into Limburg and enhancing advisory services for SMEs and non-profits. Read about the strategic deal and market impact.

Baltisse-backed PIA Group, a leading accountancy and advisory services provider active across the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Germany, has completed the acquisition of Juyst, a Dutch advisory firm headquartered in Heerlen. Juyst operates from four offices in Heerlen, Echt, Geleen, and Den Bosch, employing 75 professionals. This acquisition marks PIA Group’s strategic entry into the Limburg region and strengthens its presence in South Netherlands.

While the financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed, PIA Group has acquired 100% ownership of Juyst. The integration aims to leverage Juyst’s established client base and local expertise while maintaining Juyst’s brand identity, culture, and client approach. Juyst will continue to operate under its own name, preserving its operational independence and customer relationships.

Founded over 25 years ago, Juyst specializes in serving small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and non-profit organizations, including municipalities and housing corporations. Its service portfolio includes accountancy, tax advisory, tax control, corporate finance, and business coaching. The firm emphasizes sustainability, vitality, and corporate social responsibility both in its client services and internal culture.

PIA Group, established in 2012 by Steven Brouckaert, has grown into an international organization with more than 3,800 employees across over 75 offices. The group combines innovation and technology with a commitment to local presence and client proximity. The acquisition of Juyst aligns with PIA Group’s mission to expand organically and through acquisitions, enhancing its advisory capabilities and geographic reach.

According to Ewout Brouwers, CEO of PIA Group, “With Juyst, we bring in a strong, growing organization that fits perfectly with the next phase of PIA Group. Their ambition in technology, entrepreneurship, and client focus complements our goal to build a future-proof organization that balances local strength with collective development.” Juyst partners Marijn van Acht and Ron van der Voort highlighted the benefits of the deal, emphasizing enhanced specialist knowledge, increased capacity, and continuity for clients, while retaining Juyst’s local identity and client relationships.

The acquisition offers operational synergies including shared back-office functions such as IT, HR, recruitment, and marketing, which are expected to improve efficiency and reduce overhead costs. Employees at Juyst gain access to broader development opportunities, knowledge sharing, and modern tools within the larger PIA Group network.

Market analysts note that this move strengthens PIA Group’s competitive position in the consolidating accountancy and advisory market, particularly in South Netherlands. The deal enhances PIA Group’s service portfolio with a stronger focus on sustainability and socially responsible business practices, meeting growing client demand in these areas.

Integration challenges include maintaining Juyst’s distinct culture and client approach while aligning IT and data systems. Both organizations emphasize a careful transition to ensure service continuity and employee retention.

Looking ahead, PIA Group plans to leverage Juyst’s local market knowledge to deepen client relationships and develop innovative advisory solutions. The acquisition supports PIA Group’s strategic ambition to be a leading player in the European accountancy and advisory sector by combining scale, technology, and local expertise.
