Alistar acquires XTRM development and partners with Riviq, boosting AI and Microsoft 365 digital workplace solutions across Benelux and France.
Alistar, a leading European full-service technology partner backed by Capital A, announces the acquisition of XTRM development, a specialist in Microsoft 365 services and digital workplace solutions. This move, alongside a strategic partnership with Dutch data science and AI consultancy Riviq, significantly expands Alistar’s capabilities and workforce, now exceeding 830 employees across Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. The combined entity achieves an annual turnover surpassing 144 million euros.
The acquisition of XTRM development, which focuses on designing, developing, and optimizing Microsoft 365-based digital workplaces, strengthens Alistar’s technical expertise in Microsoft Copilot and digital transformation. XTRM development’s team of business consultants, adoption specialists, and developers brings a user-centric approach to technology solutions, emphasizing performance, scalability, and usability.
Riviq, with its 60 specialized consultants, supports organizations in transforming data into actionable insights through strategic advice, data science, and AI innovation. As a certified Microsoft Solution Partner for Data & AI and Cloud Solution Provider, Riviq enhances Alistar’s managed service offerings with secure, 24/7 Microsoft consultancy and cloud management.
Jan Hofman, managing partner at Alistar, highlights the acquisition’s strategic value: “With XTRM development, we are bringing a team on board that is technically exceptionally strong. Together, we create even more depth and build a future where people, data, and technology drive growth.” Matthijs Veenendaal of XTRM development adds, “From the very first conversation, we felt a clear cultural match. By combining our expertise, we can guide clients even better through their digital transformations.”
Alistar’s comprehensive service portfolio includes business applications, modern workplace solutions, CRM, ERP, data and business intelligence, security, e-business, and AI. The company’s headquarters are in Ghent, Belgium, with offices throughout Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Spain, and Portugal.
The acquisition and partnership align with Alistar’s ambition to help organizations become ‘Frontier Firms’—companies where AI is fully integrated into business processes and decision-making rather than an experimental technology. The combined expertise enables Alistar to offer enhanced AI-driven digital workplace solutions and data science services, accelerating clients’ digital transformation journeys.
Market trends indicate increasing demand for integrated AI and Microsoft 365 solutions, driven by the need for smarter digital workplaces and data-driven decision-making. Alistar’s strengthened position challenges competitors to enhance their AI and Microsoft 365 capabilities, potentially accelerating industry consolidation.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. The deal involves a full acquisition of XTRM development, with integration plans focusing on harmonizing technical teams and service delivery models while maintaining client satisfaction.
Looking ahead, Alistar aims to leverage cross-selling opportunities between its expanded client base and the combined service offerings of AI, data science, and Microsoft cloud solutions. The company also plans to streamline operations by consolidating administrative functions and shared infrastructure.
As Alistar integrates XTRM development and deepens its partnership with Riviq, it positions itself as a leading provider of AI-enhanced Microsoft 365 and digital workplace services in the Benelux and French markets, supporting sustainable growth and innovation for its clients.
