ArcLight Capital Partners has successfully closed its latest infrastructure fund, ArcLight Infrastructure Partners Fund VIII, with total commitments of $3.9 billion. The fund was oversubscribed, exceeding its $3.0 billion target by approximately 30%, highlighting strong investor demand for infrastructure-focused strategies. The closing of Fund VIII brings ArcLight’s total capital raised over the past 24 months to more than $6 billion, significantly expanding the firm’s capacity to pursue investment opportunities across critical infrastructure sectors.

Fund VIII continues ArcLight’s long-standing investment focus on power, renewables, energy storage, transmission, midstream, and digital infrastructure. The firm’s strategy centers on value-added investments in essential electrification assets, supported by deep operational expertise and long-term partnerships.

Founded in 2001, ArcLight has built a substantial track record in energy and infrastructure, having owned, controlled, or operated approximately 70 gigawatts of power generation assets and 48,000 miles of electric and gas transmission infrastructure. These assets represent more than $80 billion in enterprise value.

In recent years, ArcLight has expanded its platform through a series of strategic partnerships and operating platforms, including AlphaGen (power operations), Advanced Power (thermal development), Elevate (battery storage), SkyVest (renewables), Anchor Point (transmission), and Takanock (digital power). These initiatives reflect the firm’s focus on building integrated capabilities across the energy transition value chain.

The successful fundraising comes at a time of increasing demand for reliable, sustainable, and secure energy infrastructure. ArcLight’s ability to combine investment capital with operational and technical expertise positions it to capitalize on long-term trends in electrification, grid modernization, and digital energy systems.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as legal counsel to ArcLight in connection with the fund.
