Amsterdam-based private equity firm NewPort Capital has announced the final close of NewPort Buyout Fund III Coöperatief U.A. on January 30, 2026, raising total commitments of €170 million. The new fund brings the firm’s total assets under management to more than €400 million and represents a significant step up from its previous fund.
Fund III received strong backing from a diversified group of returning investors, including institutional limited partners, family offices and entrepreneurs, alongside several new investors. According to the firm, the fundraising highlights continued confidence in NewPort’s strategy of investing in Dutch lower mid-market companies and partnering closely with founders and management teams to support long-term value creation.
The fund has already begun deploying capital and has completed three investments since launch. One of the most recent transactions includes the acquisition of PXR, a Dutch media and advertising platform. NewPort indicated that the early investments reflect a strong proprietary deal pipeline and the firm’s hands-on investment approach.
Melvin Sie, Partner at NewPort Capital, stated that the firm is pleased to have reached the final close in the current fundraising environment. He noted that the continued support from existing investors, combined with new relationships, reinforces confidence in the firm’s consistent focus on the Dutch lower mid-market. He also pointed to the recent exit of Capital Cleaning Group, which achieved a 10x MOIC and an internal rate of return of more than 100 percent, as an example of the firm’s value creation strategy.
Founder and Managing Partner Rob van der Laan added that the successful close of Fund III marks an important milestone for the firm and reflects the strength of its team, strategy and track record. He emphasized that NewPort will continue focusing on building long-term partnerships with entrepreneurs and supporting portfolio companies in professionalising operations and accelerating growth.
